Good afternoon parents and students,
Last Friday the Academy Grade 12 Graduation Ceremony went off very well. Speeches, congratulations, awards, and best wishes were on offer. Several VIP’s were also in attendance including Members of Parliament, Councillors, our local MP, the Head of Pickering College, and other distinguished guests. The event also featured speeches and well wishes by our Advisory Board members. In addition, a special video greeting was offered by Mr. Michael Yu who is the founder of the New Oriental Education Group.
Speeches were also offered by our Valedictorian and Student Council President and the presence of this student leadership could be felt in the energy and enthusiasm that was evident throughout the event. It was also so very heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of proud teachers and parents. The event marks an important milestone in the lives of our young graduates as they leave their home at NOIC to begin their next adventure at university. I hope to see some of our graduates return to visit us in the coming years.
Examinations for Semester III Academy students will take place on May 29th, June 1st, and June 2nd. Best of luck to our young learners!
Our workshop series for students and parents continued this week. Today, during Period IV, a session entitled “Immigration Pathways for Students in Canada" was held in the library.
University offers continue to be received at NOIC and a final celebration and summary of offers and scholarships will be provided during the coming weeks.
