Happy February! At the heart of our nature reserve are all the upcoming programs and resources we provide for our community. Although ice and snow have melted, the groundhog is predicting six more weeks of winter, but do not let that stop you from warming up with us at WPNR. Visit us at our Old Crow Circle sessions, take a bird walk, or stop at the Learning Center Barn. We will share our summer camp schedule soon. Save the date for our upcoming spring events celebrating women and our planet!
Sincerely,
Executive Director, Winnie Palmer Nature Reserve
We Love Our Students
Academic Support
Meet Catelyn! She is the newest member of our WPNR team from the Saint Vincent Bearcat BEST Program. WPNR welcomes interns annually to learn the basics of animal care and nature reserve administration. In addition, we employ dozens of undergraduate Saint Vincent College students that serve as our naturalist educators that work alongside our professional staff.
Join us to celebrate women this March and create a little jar of green joy!

We are Smitten for Outdoor Play
You will notice that the mud kitchen is missing and some play areas are closed...
Not to worry, the mud kitchen is here to stay...just in a different area, and lots of exciting surprises are in store for our outdoor discovery areas in 2025!
Winter Weather Closures & Delays
In an effort to keep our staff and students safe this winter season, the Learning Center Barn may close due to inclement weather and scheduled programs may be cancelled and/or rescheduled.
We will post to Facebook and Instagram with updated closure and cancellations. The trails will remain open daily dawn to dusk!
