Prepare for the Alpha Weekend

Prayer is at the heart of the Alpha Weekend or Alpha Day, creating space for guests to encounter Jesus and experience the work of the Holy Spirit.

On October 6, Alpha Canada is offering a free 90-minute online training to help Alpha leaders and teams prepare. Explore the purpose of the Alpha Weekend or Alpha Day, practical approaches to prayer ministry and ways to lead with confidence, sensitivity and expectation.

The session includes an updated prayer ministry resource, live Q&A and an opportunity to connect and pray with Alpha staff.

Alpha Canada is inviting Christians across the country to pray for students, educators and school communities throughout the 2026–27 school year.

Through Made for This, choose a high school in your community or elsewhere in Canada and commit to praying for it throughout the year. Weekly prompts will help guide your prayers as you join others in asking God to move in the lives of young people and those who serve them.

Girls and young women are invited to take part in a territory-wide photo and writing competition exploring what it means to flourish as a young woman of God today.

Entries should include a photograph and written component. First- and second-place prizes will be awarded. The competition closes October 9.

Young leaders from around the world will gather in Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 15–20, 2027, for the International Youth Congress.

Inspired by the Compass focus on Empowering People, the congress will bring together 2,500 young adults aged 18–25 to worship, explore God’s calling and develop their leadership gifts.

Canada and Bermuda will send 26 delegates. Corps officers are encouraged to share this opportunity with actively engaged young people. Registration closes November 10, 2026.
