Maxa's idyllic location in this dynamic landscape results in constantly shifting wildlife densities, as herds move between their grazing grounds or gather upon them. The core philosophy of Maxa is a commitment to exploring the wild corners of the Okavango Delta. This is why our excursions push further, why we host full-day picnics under the shade of giant Marula trees while cooling our feet in the Okavango's waters, and why we track the ancient channels by mokoro,

navigated by the Okavango's own people.

ENHANCED ACCESS & REDUCED RATES

Due to our remote location in the North of the Okavango Delta, guest access in our first year, required pivoting through the Shinde Airstrip which presented a logistical challenge. We are now delighted to announce a significant enhancement.

From April 2nd, 2026, all access to Maxa will pivot through the newly resurfaced, on-concession Mapula airstrip. This improvement is paired with a short, scenic

4-minute helicopter transfer from the airstrip directly to the camp.

This strategic shift to Mapula results in a welcome cost saving, reducing the return access flying costs to Maxa by more than US $250 per person.
