Visit our Chinatown Information Kiosk (Baxter & Canal Streets) to redeem your receipt for a raffle entry, and to also leave love notes to be displayed on our bulletin board and display screen.
Rules of Entry
- Purchase a meal, item, or service of at least $10 from any business within the Chinatown BID service area during the raffle contest period from February 14 to March 15, 2020.
- Obtain a receipt that clearly indicates the business name and the amount paid.
- Present each receipt (of at least $10) at the Chinatown Information Kiosk during operating hours (10am to 5pm) in exchange for one raffle ticket entry. Please fill out your name, phone number and email address so that you can be contacted on March 16, 2020 if you are a raffle prize winner.

Guides took tourists through Chinatown on 2/21 in celebration of International Tourist Guide Day.
The tour was designed to show that any fears about the coronavirus in Chinatown are misplaced and untrue.
Fear of the virus has negatively impacted restaurants and businesses in the area.
Tourists are encouraged to continue to dine and shop in Chinatown establishments.

NYS Plastic Bag Ban and NYC Paper Bag Fee
As of March 1, 2020, single use plastic carryout bags are banned in New York State, with a few
exemptions. Additionally, New York City will enact a five-cent fee on paper carryout bags, which will also take effect on March 1, 2020. The fee does
not apply to exempt bags or customers using SNAP or WIC.

Property owners should register their storefronts as part of the Real Property Income & Expense (RPIE) statement. Most property owners should already be familiar with the RPIE. Business owners are not responsible for this new requirement. The 2020 RPIE filing period ends June 1, 2020.

One of New York's bravest has died from 9/11-related pancreatic cancer. Daniel Foley, a 21-year veteran of the FDNY, died at the age of 46. His brother Tom, also a firefighter, was killed in the World Trade Center attacks.
Foley served with the FDNY's Rescue Company 3 and Ladder 49, both in the Bronx. He was cited 10 separate times for bravery. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Benedict Foley, and five children, Erin, Kiera, Brianne, Kendall and Thomas "TJ."

The Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA) is looking for a poster and visual identity design for the 41st Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Festival on Saturday, May 16, 2020. The festival will include more than 50 APA organizations throughout New York City, performances, demonstrations, and food vendors, and will take place in Chelsea on West 27th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
