Join us to support the work of the Chinatown District Management Association and Chinatown Partnership in promoting local businesses, advocacy, and keeping the neighborhood clean; and to honor individuals and organizations with "CAN DO" spirits that have contributed to the vibrancy of Manhattan's Chinatown, Little Italy, Lower East Side, and Bowery Jewelry District communities. Despite the challenges and obstacles in front of them, our honorees still forged ahead to achieve their goals and dreams.

Make Music New York, “the largest music event ever to grace Gotham” (Metro New York), is a unique festival of 1,000+ free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City, all on June 21st, the first day of summer.

Nearly a quarter-century after its Chinatown debut, Joe’s Shanghai is moving on up. Moving on up to the Bowery.

The public hearing is a part of city's uniform land use review procedure, or ULURP, in which the plan goes through a series of review from the community board, borough president, and eventually City Council.

Brewer's hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, June 11 at 6 p.m. at the Pace University Student Center, at One Pace Plaza.

The Professor: Tai Chi's Journey West is a documentary about Tai Chi and one of its great masters, Cheng Man-Ching, a man who brought Tai Chi and Chinese culture to the West during the swinging, turbulent '60s.

Lessons will focus squarely on teaching real, applicable conversation skills that can help you actually communicate with others in Cantonese (and Toisan).
