Exploring Mars Virtual Talk with Libby Hausrath
Join UNLV Geoscience Professor Libby Hausrath, on Thursday, March 31, 7 pm, for a virtual talk on “Exploring Mars: Understanding the rock, soil, and potential for past habitability on another planet.” Presented by the UNLV Physics and Astronomy Department.

NASA currently has two rovers active on Mars, Curiosity and Perseverance. Both rovers are sending back fascinating information about the geology of that planet. Perseverance is collecting samples for return to Earth. These samples will help assess signs of possible past life, and allow preparation for future human exploration. We will discuss; the data from both rovers, the Mars samples and plan for their return, as well as preparation for future human exploration.

Virtual Question and Answer Session
Are you interested in developing your research into a proof-of-concept or prototype? If you have received a research grant from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) or participated in the NSF Innovation Corps (I-Corps™) program, you may be eligible to apply for an NSF Partnerships for Innovation (PFI) grant.

Attend a virtual question and answer session on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. ET to learn about the PFI program and the PFI Solicitation (NSF 19-506). During the webinar, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the PFI program and what to expect for the submission deadline.

PFI grants offer researchers the opportunity to transform new knowledge into societal benefits through translational research and technology development efforts, which catalyze partnerships to accelerate innovations that address significant societal needs.
