Checking relevant original source criminal records (vs. privately-owned, databased records) at the time of hiring strengthens an employer's defense against negligent hiring claims if the employee later harms someone while on the job. In such cases, courts are more likely to rule in favor of the employer, asserting the employer met due diligence requirements by properly checking if an individual's past behavior might negatively impact job performance or cause harm to others.    For the best FCRA-compliant employment and tenancy screening, contact Doris Hebert-Ferrigno at NRG Background Checks.  941-488-8500;  800-531-6522;   [email protected]

My mother and father were driving when she was pulled over by the police. Mom was in a hurry and told the officer so.
“I understand ma’am,” he said. “But I have to ticket anyone over 55.”
Mom was beside herself. “That’s discrimination!” she shouted.
The officer explained calmly, “Ma'am, I meant the speed limit.”
