Input needed for MoDOT's Long-Range Transportation Plans

Participants can help identify priorities for state's 25-year vision

Now through June 30, MoDOT is hosting an interactive, virtual public meeting to gather input from the public on Missouri’s transportation priorities.

The virtual public meeting is a part of the process to update MoDOT’s Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and State Freight and Rail Plan (SFRP). Both plans serve as roadmaps for the state’s transportation network, addressing the evolving needs of the system and setting priorities.

Participants can visit the virtual public meeting website to review transportation trends and identify priorities, which will help determine the goals for the state’s 25-year transportation vision. On the site, visitors can find informational charts, learn more about MoDOT’s proposed plans and provide feedback. After the virtual public meeting period ends June 30, drafts of the new plans will be available for public comment in early 2026.

The new LRTP will build upon the goals outlined in the current plan while also determining the goals and direction of the next 25 years. SFRP updates will include an analysis of the economic impact of Missouri’s public ports and passenger rail systems, an analysis of the truck parking system and the identification of critical supply chains that move the state’s economy.

Learn more and visit the virtual meeting on MoDOT’s website.

Respect the load, share the road with CMVs

Commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) are an important part of our nation’s economy and have a large presence on Missouri's highways. The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety is reminding drivers that these large trucks also have large blind spots, long stopping distances and limited maneuverability, so it’s important to give them the space they need. School's out. Summer's here. Heads Up!

Between summer vacations and children playing outside, this time of year brings more travel by car and foot. The Missouri Coalition of Roadway Safety released new Pedestrian Safety PSAs detailing how vehicles and pedestrians can drive and walk smart. When pedestrians have the right to cross, they still need to keep their heads up and pay attention near traffic.
