MoDOT celebrates engineering team for National Engineers Week

The 2025 theme is "Design Your Future" and runs through Feb. 22

February 16-22 is National Engineers Week, and MoDOT is recognizing the creativity and innovation of the men and women who make up our engineering team.

The 2025 Engineers Week theme, “Design Your Future,” is both a call to action and a celebration of the limitless possibilities in engineering. It invites the next generation of engineering professionals to dream boldly, innovate relentlessly and create a future shaped by a collective ingenuity. MoDOT wants to celebrate how engineers make a difference in the world, especially here in Missouri.

MoDOT offers rewarding career opportunities for engineers in the areas of bridge, design, construction, materials, traffic, planning, maintenance and research. With over 10,400 bridges and 34,000 miles of state highways, MoDOT’s engineers have a hand in most aspects of the design, construction review and ongoing maintenance.

MoDOT currently has more than 700 employees in engineering positions, and more than 200 of them have their Professional Engineer’s license.

The department is committed to assisting employees in achieving their PE license, with many benefits available to those seeking or already holding a PE license. Prospective engineers are encouraged to look on the MoCareers website for jobs in their areas for both licensed and unlicensed positions. There are also many internship opportunities available for engineering students.

Thank you to all the engineers whose expertise is critical to MoDOT's success. You make a difference for Missouri and the motorists who travel our roadways every day!

The traveling public can also make a difference in MoDOT's road projects. MoDOT hosts numerous public meetings across the state to discuss future needs for improvements or to get feedback as the designs are underway. This allows MoDOT's stakeholders the opportunity to provide input and feedback that may impact the outcome of a bridge or roadway project.
