MoDOT construction suspended during July 4 holiday
The Missouri Department of Transportation will suspend road construction and routine maintenance operations starting at noon on Friday, July 2 through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6 to accommodate increased holiday traffic on the roadways.

With more people expected on Missouri roads, MoDOT wants to remind motorists to please drive responsibly - pay attention, obey the speed limit and never drive impaired.

Motorists can find everything they need to plan for their holiday and summer travel with MoDOT's Traveler Information Map. This online tool shares the latest news on work zones, road conditions and traffic incidents. The map is available at

Remember, road conditions can change in an instant. Always be alert when driving, and remember to always buckle up and put the cellphone down.
MoDOT mourns loss of team member
The MoDOT family has lost one of its own in the line of duty. On June 28, Platte City Maintenance Supervisor Lloyd Crawford was struck and killed by a motorist while doing flooding emergency work. Lloyd worked for MoDOT for 18 years and will be greatly missed. Learn more.
MoDOT selects contractor for Rocheport Bridge
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission announced the Lunda Team (Lunda Construction Co., Parsons Transportation Group, Inc., Dan Brown & Associates and Hugh Zeng United) as the design-build contractor to replace the Rocheport Bridge. Learn more.
Fiscal Year 2022-2026 STIP approved
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission approved the Fiscal Year 2022-2026 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. It includes transportation projects for July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2026. Learn more.
Watch out for water over roads
Heavy amounts of rainfall in a short period of time can produce flash flooding! To stay safe, don't drive through flooded areas - roadways could be damaged under the water. Remember to turn your headlights on when your windshield wipers are on - it's the law!
