Express Yourself with Authentic Confidence

Overcome Low Self Esteem

In this five-part series, I've shared my ideas on the five patterns of codependency based on my "lived experience". For what purpose, you ask?

I believe that everybody has something beautiful and powerful within that wants to be expressed. I want to cheer you on. I want to live in a world where we all feel safe enough and important enough to share our unique talents and gifts and to express ourselves with love, authenticity, and confidence.

In this video, I do a deep dive on the fifth pattern, the one I think of as the "feedback loop", Low Self Esteem. The reason I call it the "feedback loop" is because when I started to shift, change, and grow out of the other patterns, my self-esteem dramatically and naturally improved.

When I stopped trying to control others, I started to focus on caring for and controlling myself. When I stopped avoiding things that I didn't want to deal with, I stepped up to proactive assertiveness and I started to build my confidence. When I stopped denying my own thoughts and emotions, I started speaking my emotional truth and I started getting my needs met in healthy ways. When I stopped saying "yes" when I meant "no", I started to respect myself.

When I have self-control, self-respect, self-honesty, and self-compassion, I have self-esteem. When I have self-esteem, I have the courage to bring myself, my gifts, and my talents to the party of life and to share with an open heart. This is my hope for all who needed this.
