TEACHER FEATURE

We are grateful for our wonderful faculty and would like to recognize a couple of them each month throughout the season. Have fun learning more about your dancer’s teacher below!

Miss Alyssa has studied dance for over 20 years, including favorite genres of jazz, lyrical, and ballet. She has been teaching professionally for over 14 years and joined Expressions Performing Arts Academy in 2012.

She began working with Vibe Dance Company in 2014 and has won many awards, including “Excellence in Choreography” from the Power of Dance competition. Alyssa received her BFA from North Central College and strives to build her knowledge of dance.

FUN FACT: Outside of dance, she’s a musician! She has been playing piano, violin, and guitar for years, and she’s also a vocalist. She believes there’s something special about both making music and bringing music to life through movement.

Miss Maeve has danced at Expressions since the age of three and was a part of Vibe Dance Company for eight years. She has trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, pointe, modern, contemporary, pom, and tap. She graduated from Miami University with a degree in speech language pathology, a minor in dance, and was a member of the Miami University Dance Team.

She is now pursuing her SLP master's degree at Elmhurst University. Maeve is very excited to be back at her home studio as a teacher, where she'll be able to share her love for dance with all of her students!

FUN FACT: She has performed four times in two different NFL stadiums!
