Coaches and Parents!

With the USATF Oregon Junior Olympic Series

USATF offers track and field and cross country meets where Oregon athletes, ages 6 to 18, can compete after their school and youth club seasons are over. Share these events and dates with parents and coaches. Athletes must be a USATF Oregon member to compete for these championships.

>>USATF Oregon Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships. This meet is scheduled for June 25-28 at Mt Hood Community College in Gresham, OR. The hammer throw competition will be held June 13 at Amity High School.

Anyone age 6 to 18 can enter, no qualifying standards. Two-year age group competitions. Entry fee is only $10.00. Registration begins June 1 on Athletic.net. Register for the Para Athletics exhibition events here. No entry fee or membership requirement for Para events!

>>USATF Region 13 Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships are set for July 8-12 at Juanita High School, Kirkland, WA. Hammer and Steeplechase will be held at West Seattle Stadium. Registration opens June 30. Athletes who qualify in the USATF Oregon JO Championships can compete in this regional meet with youth from the Pacific Northwest. Registration opens on June 30 on Athletic.net.

>>USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships are going to be at Cerritos College, Norwalk, CA, on July 27-August 2. Athletes who qualify in the USATF Region 13 meet can compete in this national championship meet. Information available on the national USATF website.

There are more opportunities in the Cross Country season:

>>USATF Oregon Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships will be held on November 14 or 15. Location in Oregon TBD. Anyone age 6 to 18 can enter, no qualifying standards. Age group competition at different distances. Entry fee is only $10.00. Registration will open in late October on Athletic.net.

>>USATF Region 13 Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships will be held November 21 in Washington or Idaho. Location TBD. Athletes who qualify in the USATF Oregon JO Championships can compete in this regional meet with youth from the Pacific Northwest.

>>USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships are set for Lafayette, LA, on December 12. Athletes who qualify in the USATF Region 13 meet can compete in this national championship meet. Information will be available on the national USATF website.

Look for this Middle School Championship meet next year:

USATF Oregon Middle School Track & Field Championships. This meet was held in conjunction with the Oregon Middle School Meet of Champions on May 15 at Corvallis High School, Corvallis, OR. We are hopeful to offer this meet again in 2027.

Here is a very different event for youth:

USATF Oregon 8K Youth Mountain Trail Championship. An event for youth ages 7 to 18 which offers a scenic, single loop five mile course featuring Mt. Hood’s outstanding alpine terrain. The race is within the Mt. Hood National Forest. Register now on the Wy'east Trailfest website for this August 16 event. This is not a Junior Olympic event.
