Extended Proposal Submission and Registration Deadlines
We are pleased to announce that our deadlines are extended. Paper proposals are now due no later than January 6, 2021.

However, please note that the last day to submit a travel grant application is December 17, 2020.

2021 Award Nominations Open
The Popular Culture Association sponsors literary, documentary film, and electronic reference site awards each year.  
Award winners will be announced during the annual convention in Boston, MA from June 2-5, 2021. 
Recipients do not need to be present at the conference to receive an award. 
Nomination Deadlines and Submissions:
Books published in 2020 are eligible for this year’s awards. To be considered, nominated materials must be postmarked before or on the following dates:  
  • January 30, 2021 for consideration of materials published by December 31, 2020.
  • March 15, 2021 Chairpersons report winners to VP of Awards. Winners are notified.
  • June 2021 Awards are presented at the annual PCA Conference. (Certificates will be mailed to those who cannot attend).
Documentary films and electronic research sites produced within the last three years are eligible for this year’s awards. The deadline for these materials is January 30, 2021.
Best Dissertation Award deadline for submissions is January 30, 2021.

Guests:
One $50 non-presenting guest registration may be purchased with each presenter registration at the time of registration only. All presenters and their guests are subject to the PCA Code of Conduct. 
Registration Credits from the Cancelled Philadelphia Conference
If you have a conference registration credit, do not pay registration fees. If you have a registration credit from the cancelled 2020 conference, staff will register you manually after you (1) pay your membership, (2) submit a proposal, and (3) receive confirmation that your proposal has been accepted. Please expect your registration to be confirmed 2-3 weeks after your acceptance. If you wish to use your credit as an attendee and not as a presenter, please contact execdir@pcaaca.org.  
Will the 2021 conference be virtual?
We are 100% committed to holding the conference in June 2021. Given recent events, there will likely be a hybrid/virtual component. We are currently exploring options and we'll keep you updated.
