A Message from Your Superintendent
LHSD Plan for Extended Inclement Weather

Dear Logan-Hocking School District,

As you know, our region is facing an extended inclement weather forecast in the coming week. To proactively plan for circumstances in which we may need to close schools for multiple days, we have developed a plan for staff, students and families so that we are prepared for a number of situations that may arise.

When students return to in-person classes, they will be provided Chromebooks to take home in the event that inclement weather causes additional school closures. After there has been an opportunity for students to receive Chromebooks, the below plan will take effect for additional inclement weather that occurs.

Level 1 Snow Emergency Plan
The district will be on a remote learning day. Students will NOT report in person and will follow the two-hour delayed start schedule to access google classroom for live teacher instruction. See your school’s website for two-hour delayed start schedule.

Level 2 or 3 Snow Emergency Plan
The district will be on a remote learning day. Students will NOT report in person and teachers will place assignments in google classroom for students to complete.

As they are needed, day-by-day alerts will still occur as usual through the district call list, website and social media. We are providing this update in advance of the week's forecast so that we are all prepared in the event these plans need to be implemented. We appreciate your continued cooperation and understanding in prioritizing the safety of our students and staff.

Sincerely,

The Logan Hocking Board of Education
and Monte Bainter, Superintendent
