This week's focus point
2010 is down to its final week, and many people are happy to see it go. I for one enjoyed the year, as I do them all. Certainly, there are always challenges to overcome, hardships to endure, and often tragedy. However, we can find those issues in any year. Here's what I will personally and professionally remember about 2010 (in no particular order)...
I traveled to several very cool cities in the U.S., including New York City for the first time; became a Master Mentor for Alan Weiss; watched my oldest daughter's moving ceremony of the blessing of her hands at college; watched the other daughter take a great step in her academic life and move away from home; added a new canine companion (Bella) to our family; enhanced relationships with my brother and sisters; became a part of a great new business; made tons of new friends and clients; started writing two new regular columns; learned things about my parents I never knew; read terrific books and watched superb movies; and spent another year with the love of my life in a tremendous place to live.
And there's more...
My hope is that when you reflect on the year that just was, you will focus on the opportunities presented, the challenges faced, the adversity overcome, and the sweetness of life. You will have fond memories of family, friends, and colleagues. And, you will embrace 2011 with great vigor and hope to make it an even better year.
Happy New Year! This week's quote -"I have an existential map. It has 'You are here' written all over it."
