Whether this is your first time or your 25th time, we know you'll be asking yourself - Should I take this with me next week? The answer is...

YES!

  • Favorite snacks and Coolers - We will provide Smokey Mo's TX BBQ sandwiches with chips for lunch, but if you have a favorite snack or drink, feel free to bring it! We will also have limited vegetarian/gluten-free options, so please stop by early at 12:15 for first come first serve to those options.
  • Reusable Water Bottle - Refill throughout the day at designated stations throughout the venue (noted with a watermark above)
  • Pop up tents (but don't forget your weights/stakes!), camp chairs, or umbrellas for shade. Many teams set up an area to meet up in between exploring the activities around the venue. *Note* If you bought a table during registration for your team you'll find it at the pavilion marked on the map.
  • Wagons, Strollers, etc. - Anything to make it easier to transport your items and your littles from the parking lot to the festival grounds and on the walk. The official walk will be about a half of a mile.
  • Sunscreen, Bug spray, Hats, Fans, and Swimsuits - The pool will be open to those interested, but keep an eye out on the weather so you know what to expect.
  • Team Spirit - The DSACT Buddy Walk® is such a fun atmosphere to celebrate all of our loved ones with Down syndrome. We love seeing how creative teams get with decorations, costumes, team chants, and more!

Nah!

  • Pets, Firearms, and Alcohol should be left at home

Who should check-in?

  • Starting at noon, only team captains or a designated representative of your team need to stop by the DSACT Center (shown on the map) to pick up team posters, a special gift for members with Down syndrome, and a copy of the map/schedule.

Where are team photos?

  • Team photos will be taken at the playscape by a volunteer photographer on a DSACT camera. Feel free to give them your camera or phone so you’ll have instant access to your photos!
  • Team photos are available until 2:50, so gather your team and stop by the playscape labeled with Team Photos on the map

What's happening when?

Who and what else can I expect to see?

  • Additional Entertainment and Special Guests include: 501st Legion stormtroopers, Ringo, Liberty Hill Fire Department, Quita Culpepper, Cheerleaders, Princesses, Drumline, balloon art, and more...
  • Local nonprofits will be joining us at the Community Showcase in the DSACT Center to share how their programs can help your family
  • Kona Ice will also be available for purchase throughout the event! One free snow cone ticket will be given to each team captain at check-in.
  • Our calming sensory area is back! We have moved it closer to the action to make sure all our friends have access to this tent with fidget toys, a crash pad, a misting fan, and more.
  • The Walk of Fame will once again line the start of the walk. You'll see faces and team names on the yard signs of some of our awesome DSACT members.

What's new this year?

  • You asked, we listened! This year, we have more entertainment for our younger friends including a soft play area, bounce house, and musical petting zoo.
  • Our DSACT adults have been hard at work! Stop by the Adult Market at the Community Showcase to purchase artwork created by our very own members.

Why does my team need to fundraise?

DSACT Buddy Walk® fundraising helps make sure we can provide year-round programming to all of our members. We sincerely appreciate each of you for doing your part and recruiting your friends and family to join us. We are closer than ever to our goal of $200,000 and cannot wait to celebrate our accomplishments together on October 20th!
