Extreme Fire Danger Today

A drastic wind shift is expected across the region Friday. The images below depict the forecast wind direction and gust speeds at 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m.

Strong south winds and above-normal temperatures will support very high to extreme grass fire danger today. Strong south winds are expected to switch to the northwest in the late afternoon - evening with localized gusts of 50+ miles per hour possible.


Please secure loose outdoor items, Christmas decorations, and trash bins, and be mindful of anything that could cause a spark.
