Prevent Blindness Launches New Resource to Help Consumers Understand Eye Care Benefits During Open Enrollment Season and Beyond

As millions of Americans review their health coverage options during the open enrollment period, Prevent Blindness has launched a new educational resource to help individuals and families better understand their vision and eye care benefits. The new guide, “Understanding Eye Care Benefits,” breaks down the often-confusing landscape of insurance terms, coverage types, and benefits related to eye exams, glasses and contact lenses, medical eye care, and surgery. The resource also offers links to additional information, opportunities to engage in eye care advocacy, and a platform for sharing personal vision stories.

Medicare open enrollment runs October 15–December 7, 2025; ACA Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) open enrollment runs November 1, 2025–January 15, 2026; and open enrollment for employer plans varies by employer.
