March is Workplace Eye Wellness Month at Prevent Blindness. Our goal is to provide employers and employees with important information to help keep eyes safe and healthy at work. Prevent Blindness offers a variety of free resources including workplace eye safety fact sheets, shareable social media graphics, and webpages. Prevent Blindness also offers a Workplace Safety module as part of its Healthy Eyes Educational Series.

“Digital Eye Strain,” also referred to as “Computer Vision Syndrome,” is a group of symptoms experienced when using computers or other digital devices for long periods of time, according to the Cleveland Clinic. Symptoms may include dry eyes and/or irritated eyes, blurred or double vision, tearing or watery eyes, and headache.

Prevent Blindness presented the 2025 Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award, to Howard Purcell, O.D., F.A.A.O., president and CEO, New England College of Optometry (NECO), as part of our annual Person of Vision gala on February 19, in conjunction with Vision Expo East in Orlando, Fla.


The Prevent Blindness Person of Vision Award recognizes an individual, corporation and/or organization whose inspired outlook champions healthy vision and its importance for a healthy life. The gala raised more than $300,000. All proceeds go to support the sight-saving programs of Prevent Blindness.
