Those who work in an office environment using digital screens, such as computers, tablets and smartphones, may be at a higher risk for digital eye strain, also known as computer vision syndrome. Symptoms may include blurred vision, dry eyes, headaches along with back, neck and shoulder stiffness and pain.

Prevent Blindness has declared March as Workplace Eye Wellness Month to support healthy eyes for everyone in the workplace.

March 23-29 is Keratoconus Week

at Prevent Blindness

Keratoconus (keh·ruh·tow·ko·nuhs) is an eye disease that results in a thin, weakened cornea – the clear part of the front of the eye. Instead of a smooth, rounded surface, the cornea becomes irregular and stretches, creating a cone-like bulge that causes light to not focus well and results in blurred vision and visual impairment.

Are you living with thyroid eye disease (TED) or have a family member who has been diagnosed with TED?

Join Prevent Blindness for a discussion on the latest in TED treatment and research. Learn how current treatments work in the eye, what types of clinical research are underway, and how to talk with your doctor about the right care for you. We’ll also review steps to identify and get involved in clinical trials. The session will feature Dr. Trevor Angell, a specialist in TED treatment and clinical research, as well as Richie Kahn, a patient advocate experienced in bringing the patient perspective into the clinical development process.
