Influenza Activity Remains Elevated in Orange County, Driven by Influenza B
Local Influenza Update:
  • Influenza activity throughout Orange County has significantly increased in recent weeks. At the State level, influenza activity is widespread and is expected to continue for several more weeks.
  • The most frequently identified influenza virus type reported by Orange County Public Health Laboratory has been influenza B/Victoria, though Influenza A viruses have also been circulating.
  • Two influenza-associated deaths in adults 18 to 64 years have been reported to Orange County Public Health so far this season.
