President's Report

President Goldenberg stated that for the month of October, the State Board of Education will not hear public testimony as there are no educational topics for discussion. She added that for the month of November, the State Board of Education will hear public testimony on Chapter 30, the Evaluation of the Performance of School Districts.


Commissioner's Report

Presentation of the 2024-2025 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year

Dr. Jorden Schiff, Acting Assistant Commissioner, Division of Teaching and Learning Services, introduced Ms. Stefanie Lachenauer, a civics and mindfulness teacher at the Montgomery Upper Middle School in the Montgomery Township School District, as the 2024-2025 New Jersey State Teacher of the Year.



Appointments

The State Board approved the following appointments pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:4-32-35 and N.J.A.C. 6A:2-1.1 et seq.: Mr. Ambrose Duckett, Assistant Commissioner, Division of Field Support and Services.


Adoption

Chapter 23A, Fiscal Accountability, Efficiency, and Budgeting Procedures

Presentation

The State Board adopted the proposed readoption with amendments to the rules at N.J.A.C. 6A:23A, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:4-15, 18A:36A-18, 18A:36C-7, and 18A:46-15.·
