STATE BOARD of EDUCATION ACTIONS
Organization Chart
Adopted the new organizational structure for NJDOE at N.J.A.C. 6A:2-1.1 et seq., pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14B-3(1). The new organization chart outlines the reporting responsibilities of the Deputy Assistant Commissioner of Executive Services and their chief officers, the Executive Legal Affairs Officer, and the Director of the Office of Charter and Renaissance Schools.

State District Superintendent in Camden City
Approved the appointment of Katrina McCombs, the current Acting State District Superintendent for Camden City School District, as the State District Superintendent of the State-Operated School District of Camden City effective April 17, 2019.

New rules at N.J.A.C. 6A:9A, and N.J.A.C. 6A:9B, pertaining to a teacher leader
endorsement pursuant to P.L. 2015, c. 111 ( N.J.S.A . 18A:26-2.18 through 2.22).

Discussion
Professional Standards, State Board of Examiners and Certification
After a presentation by Dr. Linda P. Eno, NJDOE Assistant Commissioner, Academics and Performance; and Jane Griesinger, NJDOE Acting Director, Office of Career Readiness, the State Board discussed NJDOE's proposed amendments to N.J.A.C. 6A:9, Professional Standards, and N.J.A.C. 6A:9B, State Board of Examiners and Certification. Specifically, NJDOE proposes to amend N.J.A.C. 6A:9-2.1, which includes definitions for terms used in N.J.A.C. 6A:9B, and the requirements for the CTE endorsement at N.J.A.C. 6A:9B11.3. The proposed amendments are intended to address CTE teacher shortages in in-demand industries and occupations, which affect approved CTE programs of study in comprehensive high schools, charter high schools, or county vocational school districts.
