We were blessed to be invited to speak before three church congregations on January 22, Sanctity of Life Sunday. Our Baby Bottle Campaign has kicked off, and we already have 14 churches running both physical and online campaigns. Many are scheduled to begin this month. It's a fun way to teach the value of life to our children and a significant component of our annual revenue. Is YOUR church or group involved yet?

On the Utah legislative front, we received some good news: On January 23, HJR2 passed the House floor with a vote of 59-13. On January 27, it passed the Senate Committee 3-1. HJR2 raises the standard for granting injunctions (legal holds) on laws passed by the legislature. It requires a lawsuit to be "likely to prevail on the merits" before a judge can halt the enforcement of a duly enacted law. Previously (as in the case of Utah's abortion trigger bill), the rather subjective standard was that the law "presents serious issues." Since Judge Andrew Stone placed an injunction on the trigger law, over 1,700 babies have lost their lives, which is truly regrettable.

In this issue, we are sharing a 4-minute video that explains all you need to know about the most significant challenge facing us: the "abortion pill." Dr. Noreen Johnson explains what happens during abortion pill procedures on preborn children up to 10 weeks old. Dr. Johnson is a board-certified OB-GYN with 44 years of experience. Before she "saw the Light" and joined the battle for life, she completed over 1000 abortions. As a reminder, the PRC offers the abortion pill reversal protocol for those who have taken the first pill and regret their choice. However, they must find and contact us within 72 hours of ingesting the pill to have a chance at saving their baby. I encourage you to watch and learn. CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO

Thank you for continuing to stand in the gap with us and continuing to pray with us. Have a great month!

Thank you to Gospel Hope Church, Gospel Grace Church, and Lifeline Community for inviting us to speak to their congregations. The support of the Body of Christ in our community is vital to what we do, and we love to share this important work with our brothers and sisters.

DONOR HIGHLIGHT

Why Do I support the PRC?

My name is Melissa Callister. I actively give to the PRC because I love life, all life! More importantly, I know that every life is valuable to God. All I ever wanted to be was a mom, but I know that pregnancy isn't always a joyous time. I know there are women who feel like they don't have any other option than to terminate. Giving to the PRC gives hope for those who feel hopeless. I want people to know that there is a God who deeply loves them and has great plans for them and their baby. I feel that giving to the PRC is a way that I can help show that love. I also love that there is support for those who may have chosen to terminate their babies.

I choose to give, because I am merely a steward of my resources. God has blessed my family with the opportunity to give, and I pray that my monetary gifts can further God's kingdom. I prayed that God would show me where He would best use these resources, and I believe that He led me to the PRC. God is our Ultimate Healer, and being able to provide counseling is invaluable to these women. In a world that feels so hopeless, I am happy to be able to support an organization that shows that hope can be restored.

CLIENT STORY

Leah* walked into our clinic months ago, looking for resources. She had just moved from New York, leaving behind abusive relationships with a family member and the father of her baby. She was due in one short month and had brought nothing with her. We provided her with diapers, wipes, baby clothes, a car seat, diaper rash cream, and many other supplies.

The following month, she returned for our Life Steps parenting class and Mom’s Together group. Through relationships she built here with staff, volunteers, and other clients, she joined a church. After about eight months of faithful, godly friendships, discipleship, and teaching, she chose to be baptized on January 22nd! She has shared how deeply she desires and intends to live a godly life now that she has been baptized.

Praise God for Leah and her newfound faith! Join us in praying for her as she learns to walk with Him.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

My name is Emily Cowan. I am a registered nurse, and I’ve enjoyed leading Life Steps classes, serving as a client advocate, and learning the role of a nurse here at the Pregnancy Resource Center. Motherhood is a very sanctifying experience, and I love to share about the faithfulness of God in my own struggles. Many of these women are coming for help, and God is the greatest help there is.
