STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT NIGHT

On the evening of Wednesday, April 24th, we'll be recognizing students who have demonstrated outstanding student achievement through the first 3 quarters of school this year.  Students with a 3.5 GPA or higher will be invited to a ceremony to recognize their outstanding academic performance this year.  You and your student will be notified early next week if they have met the 3.5 GPA requirement. 

En la tarde del miércoles 24 de abril, reconoceremos a los estudiantes que han demostrado logros estudiantiles sobresalientes durante los primeros tres trimestres escolares de este año. Los estudiantes que hayan alcanzado un GPA de 3.5 o superior serán invitados a una ceremonia para reconocer su destacado desempeño académico este año. Solar Eclipse

Learning about the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, brought solar system excitement to our students as they observed the unique phenomenon. We thank the Madison Public Schools Endowment Fund for purchasing the necessary eclipse safety glasses.

MMSD is excited to introduce a new way for families to monitor their students’ transportation: the FirstView app from First Student. 

FirstView provides location data via GPS tracking and sends notification alerts when a student’s bus is approaching. It can track all the students in a household or associated with a caregiver account. It’s the easiest and fastest way to get answers to questions like, “When will the bus show up?” and “How can I see when my child will be picked up or dropped off?”  

It should be noted that the app’s functionality does not extend to special ed transportation at this time.

MMSD se complace en presentar una nueva forma para que las familias controlen el transporte de sus estudiantes: la aplicación FirstView, de First Student.

FirstView proporciona datos de ubicación mediante seguimiento GPS y envía alertas de notificación cuando el autobús de un estudiante se acerca. Se puede utilizar para realizar un seguimiento de todos los estudiantes de un hogar/asociados con una cuenta de cuidador. Updated Info From the Health Office

The new CDC guidelines have been accepted by MMSD (thru the medical advisory team) as of 3/12/24. It will affect you in the following ways:

  • No required 5 day isolation. Instead, stay home until you are feeling better and have not had fever, vomiting or diarrhea x 24 hours

  • When feeling better, take precautions for 5 days to avoid getting others sick such as wearing a well fitting mask, covering coughs and sneezes, and washing hands frequently.

  • Our new screener will talk about Respiratory viruses (covid, RSV, and influenza) and not just COVID-19.  No Covid testing will be required.
