PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCE INFORMATION

We look forward to meeting with you about your child’s progress this year. Conferences will be held Wednesday, Nov 15, in the evening and all day Friday, Nov 17. There will be no school for students on Friday, Nov 17. 

You will receive an email or phone call from your child’s 1st-hour teacher to schedule a conference. Gillespie staff will continue reaching out to you before November 15th and 17th to schedule a conference. A planning sheet is below to help you prepare for your child’s conference. Feel free to use this document to guide your conference conversations.

If you do not receive an email or phone call from your child’s teacher by the week of Nov 13 or need assistance reaching your child’s 1st-hour teacher, please get in touch with the Gillespie office at (608)663-6403.

The Gillespie First Annual Fall Dance was a huge success! 

The students danced the night away to tunes spun by DJ Ree Maniac Entertainment Services. We want to thank all the staff and parents who volunteered to make this a memorable night!

During the month of October, we had a Kindness Campaign at Gillespie. The students were taught lessons about skills that go with kindness, like integrity, courage, and empathy. One optional activity that students had the chance to participate in was the Creativity contest. Students were encouraged to create a piece of media that followed the theme of “Kindness.” The list of winners is below:

MSCR / AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM UPDATES

Hello Gillespie Families!

I want to thank all the students who participated in the fall sports (Volleyball and Soccer). You guys did great!

Here are a few updates for MSCR winter sports - We now offer girls' and boys' basketball. I passed out forms for boys' basketball, and I am still passing out girls' basketball for any interested student. If your child would like to participate in any of these sports, please tell them to see me after school. They have until Friday, Nov.10th, to get the forms to me. 

School of Hope updates - if your student is still looking for a tutor, please let me know. I have some new tutors who would love to be placed with our students! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please get in touch with me.

¡Hola familias de Gillespie!

Quiero agradecer a todos los estudiantes que participaron en los deportes de otoño (voleibol y fútbol). ¡Lo hicieron genial!

Aquí hay algunas actualizaciones para los deportes de MSCR Winder: ahora ofrecemos baloncesto para niñas y niños. Repartí formularios para baloncesto masculino y todavía estoy repartiendo baloncesto femenino a cualquier estudiante interesado. Si a su hijo le gustaría participar en alguno de estos deportes, dígale que me vea después de la escuela. Tienen hasta el viernes 10 de noviembre para enviar los formularios.
