The new and enhanced F1® X experience includes:
-
4D Theater: The centerpiece of the updated F1® X is a dramatically enhanced 4D Theater powered by Liminal Space’s proprietary “Ghost Tile” stereoscopic LED technology that will surround guests with holographic visuals. Motion seating, immersive sound and physical effects by MediaMation Entertainment will place them directly inside a Formula 1 race.
-
Legacy of Formula 1: Executive produced by GP1X, this refreshed gallery celebrates the heritage and evolution of the sport through its most iconic moments, cars and champions. Visitors can explore a vast collection of authentic memorabilia and detailed replicas, offering a window into the milestones and legends that have defined Formula 1 across every era.
-
Advanced Design Studio: In the Design Studio, fans will bring their F1 vision to life by customizing a Formula 1 car in an advanced digital workshop, featuring all-new designs, liveries and colorways.
-
Helmet Design & Driver Transformation: Guests can design a custom racing helmet and use an interactive avatar mirror to see themselves transformed into a driver fitted out in a racing suit.
-
Central Pit Stop Challenge: The pit stop challenge has been relocated to the center of the exhibition and will boast a full Formula 1 car, elevating the realism and intensity of the challenge, where guests will work together as an elite pit crew, using tools to jack the car, change the tires and get their machine back on track in record time.
- Livery Reveal Finale: The new livery reveal now serves as the final room of F1® X and is visible through a viewing window from the F1® HUB Lounge.
The full F1® X experience includes the following:
Pit Pass
Guests will start their F1® X adventure with an interactive Pit Pass. Each participant designs a personal driver profile and creates their own F1 team, choosing a name, colors and logo.
LEARN: ETC, Legacy of Formula 1 and F1 Factory
The first stop: the “ETC,” is a replica of the most technologically advanced broadcast center on the planet. Guests will go into the heart of the F1 control room – a command center broadcasting the thrill of live races across the globe. This will include surprise appearances by very special guests, brought to life with cutting-edge hologram technology.
Then fans will head into the Legacy of Formula 1, a showcase executive produced by GP1X. This immersive experience takes visitors through the history, development, technology, and high-stakes competition that make up this global spectacle. New for this year, guests can design their own racing helmet and use an interactive avatar mirror to see themselves transformed into a driver fitted out in a race suit. Some of the cars on display, courtesy of The Petersen Automotive Museum, will include:
-
1987 Lotus 99T: Designed by Technical Director Gérard Ducarouge, this was the final Lotus car to achieve an F1 victory and features a memorable yellow and blue Camel livery. Despite being aerodynamically inferior and overweight due to its electronic active suspension, Ayrton Senna piloted it to eight podiums and two wins.
-
1994 Williams FW15D F1: Designed by a team of F1 engineering greats Adrian Newey, Patrick Head and Paddy Lowe, the FW15D is a modified version of the technologically advanced FW15C, updated to comply with the 1994 ban on electronic driver aids like active suspension and traction control. It was used for pre-season testing in 1994 by legendary drivers Damon Hill and Ayrton Senna following the retirement of Alain Prost.
-
1999 Ferrari F399: The F399 was a reliable evolution of its predecessor that successfully secured Ferrari’s first World Constructors’ Championship in 16 years. Driven by Michael Schumacher, Eddie Irvine, and Mika Salo, the car earned a total of 17 podiums and six wins over the 16-race season.
At the F1 Factory, guests will see the evolution of the modern F1 car and discover the craftsmanship behind the world’s fastest racing machines. Notable replicas include a 2023 Aston Martin front wing and nose, a 2024 Williams F1 Team Steering Wheel, a 2024 McLaren MCL38 – the car driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, and more.
CREATE: Design Studio
In the Design Studio, produced in partnership with Brian Burke Creative, fans will bring their F1 vision to life, customizing their Formula 1 car using a pioneering digital workshop, where they can choose from a new selection of colors, patterns and livery. Their creation will be projection mapped onto a life-sized Formula 1 car for a fun photo opportunity.
EXPERIENCE: Pit Wall Experience, Pit Stop Demo, Drivers’ Briefing Room and 4D Theater
As the grand finale, guests will take their skills to the track in a series of hands-on experiences, produced in partnership with Brian Burke Creative, to emulate a real F1 race. This will include:
-
Pit Wall Experience: The Pit Wall Experience is a thrilling test of strategy and split-second decision-making. Designed to replicate a Grand Prix Pit Wall, this puts guests in the seat of a real F1 race strategist. Real-time race communication from team principals and drivers will show how they strategize for races.
-
Pit Stop Challenge: Using a centrally located F1 car, fans will step into the garage and pit lane. They will work together as an elite pit crew, using real-world tools to jack the car, change the tires and get their machine back on track in record time.
-
New 4D Theater: The 4D Theater is powered by Liminal Space’s proprietary “Ghost Tile” stereoscopic LED technology. The space will surround guests with holographic visuals that appear to hover and move through the air in real time. Combined with advanced motion seats and special effects by MediaMation Entertainment, atmospheric surround sound and seamlessly integrated physical effects, it will transport fans directly into the heart of a Formula 1 race.
With Liminal Space and MediaMation Entertainment’s ability to blend real-world action and virtual imagery, every lap, pit stop and checkered-flag moment becomes a visceral, multi-sensory thrill. Guests will see the cinematic stereoscopic 3D using lightweight glasses, while fully LED-based visuals ensure crisp imagery with no shadows or distortion. The scalable, AR-like immersion allows wide viewing zones so large audiences can witness the effects simultaneously, with seamless switching between 2D and 3D content.
-
Cool Down Room and Podium Photo Ops: Guests can commemorate their time on the track with fun photo opportunities on the podium and in the Cool Down Room, which features their team design, to celebrate their victory.
-
Livery Reveal: The redesigned livery reveal now serves as the final room of F1® X and is visible through a viewing window from the F1® HUB Lounge, creating a shared moment for participants and spectators alike.
F1® X is one of three experiences at Grand Prix Plaza. Within the 39-acre, multi-use complex, racing fans will also be welcomed back to F1® DRIVE, a high-speed karting adventure that puts guests behind the wheel on part of the Las Vegas Strip Circuit® – marking the only time a karting attraction has operated on part of a Formula 1 track. F1® HUB rounds out the plaza with F1® SIMULATORS, a flagship store and F1® HUB Lounge serving food and beverages.
Flexible event spaces with access to the attractions are available across the building’s three levels and rooftop, including Turn 1 Lounge, Cool Down Room and GPP Garage.
Opening January 30, Grand Prix Plaza will be open Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. F1® X will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
