Penalties & Predictions!
With no race on Sunday, here's some fodder to keep your appetite whetted.
12-Strikes...
You're Out!
When an F1 driver violates the rules – such as causing a crash or not acknowledging a flag – they incur penalty points on their Formula 1 Super License. The "demerit" points from each specific infraction stay on their license for 12 months from the date of the incident, and drop off on the one year anniversary.

If a driver accumulates 12 points in a 12-month time period, their Super License is suspended and they cannot compete in the next race. Ouch! This governing system was implemented in 2014. Below are the top five "bad boys" in terms of racking up the most penalty points:

Total Penalty Points Since 2014
  1. Max Verstappen - 32
  2. Lance Stroll - 27
  3. Sergio Perez - 26
  4. Kevin Magnussen - 25
  5. Esteban Ocon - 17
So far, no driver has ever reached the 12-point limit and had to forgo an event. But currently, Piere Gasly is a mere 2-points away from that notoriety. He's going to have to keep his nose clean for the next seven races to avoid the embarrassment of being the first.

Prediction Time!
Originally, I was going to ask you to look into your crystal ball and prognosticate on which driver will be crowned World Champion in November. But after Max left the next closest team almost 40 seconds in his wake at the Bahrain GP, I thought it would be more interesting to gauge your hearts – not your heads. So...
Which driver would you most like to see win the F1 Drivers Championship in 2023?
Fernando Alonso
Lewis Hamilton
Charles Leclerc
Lando Norris
Sergio Perez
George Russell
Carlos Sainz Jr.
