We Are Officially Launched!
Training and fundraising for PWA's Friends for Life Bike Rally 2017 are officially underway! Congratulations to Steve Yeates who won the Recruitment Raffle at PWA's F4LBR17 Launch Party. Steve won a night for two at the S heraton Centre Toronto Hotel. A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped us launch the 19th Annual Bike Rally, and a special thank you to the Sheraton Centre for its continued support of the cause.

And Speaking of the Launch Party . . .
A great night was had by all and many new participants signed up. If you haven't already, now is the perfect time to sign up for the 2017 Bike Rally. As you thank your 2016 donors, why not encourage them to support you for 2017? By doing so they'll be able to take advantage of the additional deduction on this year's taxes. Plus, sign up now and you can start taking advantage of the winter training sessions (more on this below).
Winter/Indoor Training
Winter/Indoor Training Rides began on Sunday, December 4 th and will run every Wednesday (7pm - 8pm) and Sunday (1pm - 2pm) until Wednesday April 12 th . All classes will take place at the YMCA Toronto Central at 20 Grosvenor St. If you are planning to attend you must sign up at least 24 hours in advance at .
If you are coming, please arrive 15 minutes ahead of the class. A Bike Rally ambassador will meet you just inside the main doors on Grosvenor Street to check your name off the list. Once downstairs, you will need to sign the log book and present photo ID before heading to the locker room.
Locks and towels are available for rent at $2.00 each. Bags, coats, or boots are not permitted in the fitness spaces so please bring your own lock or rent one from the Y.
Team Self-Selection
If you are a past Rider then you know that one of the great features of the PWA's Friends For Life Bike Rally is the people you meet as part of your team. For new Riders, your team is your first stop for help and support while you prepare for the big ride. If you're registered before January 11th you will be able to participate in team selection. Team self-selection takes place from January 11 - 13That's where you'll be able to choose which team you're on. Watch social media and a special edition of this newsletter for details on who your potential team leads are and how to participate.
A Note from our Fundraising Co-Leads,
Eli and Michael:
Welcome to PWA's Friends For Life Bike Rally 2017! We're here to help you as we work toward our common goal of raising the most we possibly can to support the programs and critical services provided by the Toronto People With AIDS Foundation.
Best of luck to all of you on this key part of your fantastic journey. Don't hesitate to contact us at
Fundraising Tip:
Congratulations to those of you who took advantage of the opportunity to get a head start on your fundraising with Giving Tuesday. It is the time of year when many people are thinking about year-end giving and topping up their charitable donations for 2016, so now is the time to talk to your sponsors from years past. Why not include donations to the Bike Rally on your own holiday wish list? You could even put a link to your personal fundraising page.
