FA Invitational Swim Meet

A NEFF sales representative will be at Miss Paula's Table at the entrance of the FA Pavilion on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. to take orders for FA Varsity Letter Jackets. Completed order forms and payments are due at that time.

The theme for Friday's home football game is BLACKOUT. FA Students and Faculty are invited to wear their Homecoming T-Shirts to school and the game that day.

This Saturday, November 5th, Frederica Academy will host the annual Frederica Academy Invitational Swim Meet at the YMCA in Brunswick. This will also be the first swim meet that our team will participate in this year. We have over one hundred swimmers committed, so we are excited about this big meet!  We are looking for volunteers, so please reach out to Nurse Pope at [email protected] if you are able to work a few hours on Saturday!

Our team is working hard and we are really encouraged by what we are seeing in the pool! We are highlighting one swimmer each week that has really "gone the extra mile." We honor Gillian Sullivan as our "Swimmer of the Week." Gillian is a leader, rarely misses practice, and has shown fantastic improvement in her swimming techniques. She also has a great attitude and usually has a smile on her face!

The Cross Country team went to Macon to compete in the State Championship. A deep field and a tough course made for a fun and challenging day.

Maggie Dorminy on the girls side had the day's best showing at 22:37. Mary Ford Fitzjurls ran 25:09, Kaitlyn Sunderhaus ran 26:44, and Ry Hoffnagle ran 36:18. Brianna Kolhoff was injured on the course, so the team score did not count.

On the boys side, dependable Daniel McHugh led the way at 19:14, while Max Byrd was 20:07, Noah Falken was 21:30, Elijah Howerton was 21:38, Jacob Leonard was 23:04, Trey Walbridge was 24:03, and Jack Alston was 27:42. The boys finished 12 of 23. 

Most coaches agreed the course was tough enough that runners lost about 45 seconds off their best paces of the year, so that puts the times into perspective.
