It was a hard-fought football game between two very good football teams on Friday night. It's disappointing to come out on the losing end; however, I am very proud of our coaches and our players. It was physical all night, and our boys stood toe-to-toe with a team with bigger numbers and players. I wouldn't expect anything less from these young men. I am sure they will have redemption on their mind when they travel to Trinity Christian in Dublin this Friday night.
We are very excited about the GISA AAA State Cross Country Meet, which will take place in Macon on Saturday. Good luck to all of our FA runners!
We had a great week of closing out some of our Middle School sports last week. Our Middle School Tennis Team took Second Place in the Glynn County Area Tournament. It was another strong showing of our strong tennis program, which is led by Coach Brian Wyrick.
The Middle School Volleyball and Cross Country teams finished their seasons with great determination and enthusiasm in their respective championship events. Huge thanks to our Volleyball Coach, Erin Madray, and our Cross Country Coach, James Oberlies. To all of our parents that served as drivers and snack providers, thank you. Your services did not go unnoticed and are much appreciated.
Last but especially not least, thank you to all of our young student-athletes for being a part of something special here at Frederica Academy. When you put on a uniform to represent your school, that feeling will always stay with you; the memories you made over the past months with your friends and coaches are something you will always cherish.
We are now moving into our winter sports programs. Middle School Soccer is practicing for their first match, and our Varsity Basketball teams are preparing for their first games on November 9, here at FA. Middle School boys who are interested in playing this season, should attend an informational meeting in the Athletic Conference Room on Wednesday during lunch. There will be a Middle School Girls Basketball informational meeting next week.
Please look at the schedules provided, and as always, we look forward to seeing you at our sporting events. We will release our other winter sports schedules, including swimming, shortly.
Go Knights!
