Thank You, FA Healthcare Professionals!
Beloved members of the healthcare team that supports Frederica Academy were recognized on the field prior to Friday night's Homecoming football game. This group of talented and caring individuals, along with their colleagues, ensure that the FA community receives first-class care.

Coach Willis shared the following quote from Theodore Roosevelt during the tribute: “People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.”  With this group, it is abundantly clear how much they care.

A Message from the Athletic Director
It was a hard-fought football game between two very good football teams on Friday night. It's disappointing to come out on the losing end; however, I am very proud of our coaches and our players. It was physical all night, and our boys stood toe-to-toe with a team with bigger numbers and players. I wouldn't expect anything less from these young men. I am sure they will have redemption on their mind when they travel to Trinity Christian in Dublin this Friday night.

We are very excited about the GISA AAA State Cross Country Meet, which will take place in Macon on Saturday. Good luck to all of our FA runners!

We had a great week of closing out some of our Middle School sports last week. Our Middle School Tennis Team took Second Place in the Glynn County Area Tournament. It was another strong showing of our strong tennis program, which is led by Coach Brian Wyrick

The Middle School Volleyball and Cross Country teams finished their seasons with great determination and enthusiasm in their respective championship events. Huge thanks to our Volleyball Coach, Erin Madray, and our Cross Country Coach, James Oberlies. To all of our parents that served as drivers and snack providers, thank you. Your services did not go unnoticed and are much appreciated.

Last but especially not least, thank you to all of our young student-athletes for being a part of something special here at Frederica Academy. When you put on a uniform to represent your school, that feeling will always stay with you; the memories you made over the past months with your friends and coaches are something you will always cherish.
We are now moving into our winter sports programs. Middle School Soccer is practicing for their first match, and our Varsity Basketball teams are preparing for their first games on November 9, here at FA. Middle School boys who are interested in playing this season, should attend an informational meeting in the Athletic Conference Room on Wednesday during lunch. There will be a Middle School Girls Basketball informational meeting next week.

Please look at the schedules provided, and as always, we look forward to seeing you at our sporting events. We will release our other winter sports schedules, including swimming, shortly.

Go Knights!

In the girls race, Lyla Partin finished 24th overall with a time of 28:07, and Isabella Speight finished 32nd with a time of 34:46. Middle School Tennis
The Frederica Middle School Tennis team finished the 2021 season with an excellent runner-up finish in last week’s Region Middle School Tournament.

In the Region Tournament first round, FA defeated St. Marys Middle 3 to 2. Match winners were Ella Barker in Girls singles, Scout Brummett and Ava Wyrick in Girls Doubles, and Kelly Offner and Brianna Kohlhoff in doubles. The entire team played great after we had lost to St. Marys a week earlier.

The final round of the Region Tournament was a tough but exciting loss against Glynn Middle. We fought hard but came up a match short, losing 3 to 2. The match winners Brianna Kohlhoff and Kelly Offner and the doubles team of Scout Brummett and Ava Wyrick. Glynn Middle came ready to play. We had beaten them a week earlier and unfortunately for us, they played at their best!

The Region Tournament is always one of the most fun events each year. I was so proud of the teamwork and how each FA player brought their best game forward when it counted.

Many people helped the team find success this season. Thank you to Kathy Offner, who was always willing to drive players to any place I needed. I also want to thank Adam Elsharkawi for volunteering his time to help me on the court this year. His patience and experience were greatly appreciated by the team.

The FA Middle School Tennis Team represented the school very well.

Middle School Volleyball
On Tuesday, we played our championship game against Jane Macon Middle at Glynn Academy. We won the first game 25-19, lost the second 21-25, and lost the tiebreaker 12-15. This team made me so proud! Their determination and effort for every single practice and game was so gratifying to watch from the sidelines as a coach. My two captains, Elizabeth Temple and Amelia McGlaughlin led the girls on and off the court.

Go Knights!
