A Message from the Athletic Director

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday.

We are into our winter sports now with the FA Swim teams in the heart of their seasons and our basketball teams starting their long seasons. The Varsity Swim team will have a meet at Ware County on Tuesday. Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball have four games this week including home games Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. The Middle School Boys Basketball team has its first home game this Friday. The Middle School Soccer teams end their regular season schedules at Camden Middle this Wednesday. We will know where they are in the playoffs after those matches.

I look forward to seeing you at one of our athletic contests this week.

Go Knights!

Varsity Boys Basketball

The Varsity Boys Basketball team tipped off its season with a great road win over Coastal Home School, 57-35, on Monday night. The Knights were led by Xavier Preston, who had 25 points and 14 rebounds. Josh Gray had 10 points, and Grant Prokop and Isaiah Preston each had seven points. The defense was the real story of the game. Only playing with seven players, the Knights were active with the press and the fast-moving zone. With 16 steals and 20 deflections, the defense was a real problem for Coastal.

It's great to be back on the court with these guys who have been really working hard in practice. They were tired of listening to me and were anxious to see another team. I was really impressed with our hustle and effort throughout the game.

The Knights have a big week ahead. We play four games this week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday home games, then a Saturday game in Jacksonville. The Knights will also be getting back our football players this week, and it should be fun to try and get everyone up to speed. It will take some time to get these guys playing fast and well together but what a great opportunity we have.

Go Knights!

Varsity Girls Basketball

The Varsity Girls Basketball Team continued the regular season schedule play on Monday versus Coastal Home School. The Lady Knights got off to a fast start, outscoring Coastal 22-6 in the first quarter. FA went on another scoring run and took a 37-13 halftime lead. The girls played hard from start to finish and had balanced scoring from Margaret Gandy (16 points) and Sophie Price (17 points). The final score was 61-14. We have three home games this week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Go Knights!
