FA 82 | Bulloch 41

We played a complete game on the road, and we were able to get everyone a chance to get some playing time. It was our last regular-season region game, so it was important for us to end the regular season on a high note. I thought we continued to share the ball well, and our half-court defense was okay. Bulloch is down this year after having nine seniors the previous year, so it's tough to gauge things sometimes in a game like this. I thought we had a good flow even when our young guys were in, and that's what a coach wants to see.

Rashon Jackson, a freshman guard, had a great night shooting the ball, scoring five 3's in two quarters. I think all of our young guys have great futures ahead of them on the hardwood. Rashon led us in scoring with 17, followed by Xavier Preston with 15, Vic Riden with 10, William Jobe with 10, Jacob O'Connor with 9, Jordan Triplett with 8, Thomas Jackson with 5, Isaiah Preston with 3, Grant Moore with 3, and Bryce Reilly with 2. We finished the regular season 5-3 and earned the 2nd seed in the Region Tournament starting this Thursday in Statesboro, Georgia, at Bulloch Academy. We will play Trinity, the 3rd seed, at 5:00 p.m.

FA 48 | Hope Christian of Jacksonville 53

Once again, we had a battle with the Warriors from Hope Christian. Even though they aren't in our region, this is a great game for us to play as they are talented and play hard. This helps us prepare for the Region Tournament. We came up short, but it's valuable for us to play this game and get the opportunity to compete against such a good team. Anytime you turn the ball over or take a bad shot, Hope Christian will take advantage of it, and they are so good at turning those situations into scores.

We were down by one at the half and continued to scrap on defense and for scoring opportunities. Losing hurts anytime, but it's not so bad when you know you played hard and your opponent was just better than you that night. We can look at what we did wrong and improve. That's the name of this game: improve and advance to the next game. We have our goals as a team and we will work to achieve them.

FA 20 | Bulloch 86

We traveled to Bulloch on Tuesday night. Bulloch is ranked number one in the state. They are a great and athletic team. We had a tough time scoring the ball in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters. Margaret Gandy was the leading scorer with 7 points.

We are looking forward to traveling on Tuesday for the Region Tournament.

Last week, we played Southside out of Waycross and we won 48-46. Everybody played well in the first half. We had great defense, good shot selection, but fouls hurt us early. In the second half, we were able to get defensive stops in the last few minutes of the game. The kids really responded when we were down.

Top scorers:

Wells Williams 12 points
Campbell Williams 10 points

The Lady Knights traveled to Waycross looking to take back a game we gave away last week, and that's exactly what happened. It was a tight back-and-forth game early on through one quarter, and then Reagan McLain started making 3-pointers rain. She had three 3-pointers in the game and a couple of nice buckets to end with 13 points.

Clare Reid was dominant in the center with 2 blocked shots, 6 rebounds, and 6 points off the glass. Sofia Gegg chimed in with some points and good ball distribution. Eliza Veal bought us some valuable time handling the ball, while we protected our guard with 4 fouls early before the half, and Libby Certain picked up the defense on their ball handler. The final score was 22-12.
