Thank you, Adam Norman!
Prior to a soccer game last week, FA Athletic Trainer, Adam Norman, was honored for his excellent and dedicated service to the Frederica Academy community. Paul Trumbull and Rebecca Joyner represented Southeast Georgia Health System for the recognition. Thank you, Adam!
National Athletic Training Month is held every March to spread awareness about the important work of athletic trainers. The 2022 slogan is "Providing Health Care Everywhere.”

Before you get sidelined with an injury, make sure you consult an athletic trainer, who specializes in the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. Athletic Trainers are essential to health care. A reminder from the national athletic trainers’ association – NATA.ORG – during National Athletic Training Month.
2022-2024 GIAA Classifications
Beginning next year, GISA's athletic competitions will fall under a new association operated by GISA called the Georgia Independent Athletic Association (GIAA).
Varsity Golf
The Alumni golfers took a close match at Brunswick Country Club in the annual Alumni vs. Varsity Golf match by a score of 8.5 to 6.5. The format was 2 man scramble match play, with a point for the front, back, and overall for each of 5 matchups. Individual results were as follows:

Dru Love and Thomas Henderson defeated Jackson Byrd and Roy Boyd 3-0

Wade Carruth and Coach Tom Willis defeated Aarnav Nath and Ramie Shingler 3-0

Jeff Seymour and Ryan Lavallee tied Parker Jules, Robert Stephens, and Riley Turner 1.5-1.5

Campbell Williams and Lance Reid defeated Michael Williamson '91 and Wait Thomas 3-0

Edward Stephens, Thomas Sams, and Chandler Sitz defeated Michael Tindle and
John McCallum 2-1

Coach's Comments: After losing last year, the alumni golfers had to bring in the heavy hitters in Dru and Thomas who played great and won by shooting 11 under par 61 to just beat a strong 9 under by Jackson and Roy. That was big for the alumni team. Wade was on fire with the putter, and he and I got off to a really hot start to win with a 62 despite a late birdie run by Ramie and Arnie. Jeff and Ryan really came through, managing to tie despite strong play by Parker, and Michael and John had a great comeback on the backside to get the clinching point we needed off a strong performance by Edward, Thomas, and Chandler. The young squad of Campbell and Lance were 3 under on the day and showed what the 8th graders coming up can do with a big win. Overall, it was a fun day, and I want to thank everyone who came out and supported the team. This is always a fun match, and it is great to see these guys again and to see that they can still play and have fun. It is one of the things that shows that our program is heads above the others in the state, I don't know of any other team that supports an outing like this year after year. Great job guys and girls!

Go Knight!

MS + Varsity Baseball
Varsity Baseball was swept by Pinewood 15-0, 13-3, 13-2.

Grant Moore and Hayes Carter swung it really well this past week, collecting multiple hits apiece.

John Abbott Havens continues to throw well along with Hayes Carter who made his first start of the season.

Middle School Baseball went 1-1 in a doubleheader this past Saturday at St. Marys. Wood Watson earned the win on the mound. James Barger collected multiple RBIs, while Braxton Sykes and Stanton Beverly played very solid defense for the Knights.
Varsity Girls Soccer
FA 3 - Westfield 0

We won our second region match of the year versus Westfield this past Monday 3-0. Our girls had a very mature performance and were in complete control most of this match. I look forward to continuing our winning run this week versus Bulloch and Trinity at home. Please come out and support!

Go Knights!

Coach Gabe Gabriel
Varsity Boys Soccer
FA 0 - Camden High 5

Seems this is a season of rain. We played a strong Camden High team on Tuesday at Camden High with a constant stream of rain pelting the players. We had some great chances in the first half and in the first ten minutes of the second half. Unfortunately for us, Camden’s deep bench was able to come in and give them fresh legs allowing them to continue to pressure us and eventually slip four goals past us in the second half of the game.

We had some decent possession out of the midfield from Sean Mooney, David Garcia, and Charlie Runyan. We were also able to see what our up-and-coming players (Smith Veal and David Beimler) could do against a well-organized Camden defense.

With Gratitude,

Danielle Sunderhaus
Varsity Tennis
Last week, Frederica Varsity Boys and Girls Tennis teams enjoyed a week off with a Region bye. This week, both teams put their 2-0 region records on the line with a showdown against Bulloch Academy. The match is in Statesboro on Thursday with a start time of 4:00 p.m.

Go Knights!
