The FA Baseball program had a doubleheader this past Saturday at Pinewood. Unfortunately for our Knights, Pinewood snuck by us 12-2 in the first game and then beat us with some great defense in the second game by a score of 7-2.

Middle School Baseball Scores against St. Marys were 12-2, 10-1

The Frederica Academy Varsity Golf Team won a 9-hole match Wednesday at Retreat against Brunswick High School by a score of 174-193. Parker Jules and Edward Stephens tied for low medalist for the day with a 42. Individual Frederica scores were as follows:

Parker Jules 42
Edward Stephens 42
James Cruikshank 44
Eli Brickman 46
Josh Manning 46
Blake Holloway 49
Riley Turner 67

Coach's Comments:
We had a pretty good day overall but did not light it up by any means. Parker had a rough start but managed to straighten it out late and played the last 4 holes at 1-over, which is probably where she should be. She just needs to put that together for the whole round. Edward is hitting the ball well and is gaining confidence and consistency. I also like the way James is swinging at the ball, and his scores are starting to come down. Eli, Josh, and Blake are all capable of low scores. It is just a matter of time before they figure it out, but they were all struggling on Wednesday. But, probably the most fun was seeing Riley tee it up in his first match. He has been working to get his game to a point where he can be out there competing, so that was great to see. Hopefully, we'll continue to improve.

Varsity Girls Soccer
The FA Lady Knights Soccer team won both of its matches this past week, winning 10-0 against Robert Toombs on Monday and 4-1 versus Trinity on Friday. I was happy with their performances in both matches and also pleased to start 2-0 in region play. We will play two more region matches this week where we will look to continue our development as a group and hopefully take these opportunities to grow as a team. Our first home match will be this Friday versus Westfield. Please come out and support!

FA 1 | Trinity Christian 2

We only had one match last week against Trinity. I have very mixed feelings after this game. In terms of our possession play and dictating the way the game went - we did a great job. We controlled most of the game and had approximately 75% of the possession. We need to be better at dealing with teams who are very direct, and we need to be better at defending free-kicks and corners. It is tough when you dominate the run of play, but you end up on the losing end. It sends us a clear message of what we can improve to give us a better chance of getting the results we want.
