Baseball Volunteers Needed
The Frederica Academy Baseball team will host a tournament later this week. If you would like to volunteer at the games, please sign up through the link below. Come watch our Knights play and support our fabulous new coach by filling these slots.
PPE Night (Grades 4-11) - APRIL 28
All rising 5th through 12th grade students need to have a Pre-Participation Physical Evaluation (PPE) for each new school year. This is required due to the rigorous activity expected by our physical education, athletic, and field trip programs.
As a school service, the FA Athletic Department and Southeast Georgia Health System conduct on-campus PPE's for current students in grades 4 through 11 during the month of April each year. Once completed, each student will be covered to participate in physical education classes and all athletics for the entire upcoming school year. We are very fortunate to have community volunteers provide this service for a $10 donation to the FA Booster Club, which will be charged to your school account.

PPE Night for the 2021-2022 school year will be held in the gym on April 28, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Parents, if you would like your student to have the exam done at school, please click HERE to print the packet of forms. Parents should complete pages 1-6 and return the entire packet to school. Completed forms can be submitted to Adam Norman, Nurse Pope, or Coach Zimmermann no later than April 19.

We will conduct pre-screening sessions during PE (Grades 4-8) and lunch (Grades 9-11) for students who have submitted their forms between April 12-23. Turning in forms early allows us to do pre-screening (Height and weight, vision screenings, etc.), which helps make the PPE Night run much more smoothly.

If you prefer to have the exam done by your family physician, please click HERE for a form packet. Complete pages 1-6 before taking the entire packet to your doctor and returning it to school when the exam is completed.

Varsity Golf
The Frederica Academy Varsity Golf team played a in 4-team match last Monday at Valdosta Country Club versus Valwood, Brookwood, and Southland. Valwood won the match with a score of 285. Frederica came in second at 307. Brookwood came in third at 314, and Southland came in last at 343. The low medalist for the day was Payne Elkins from Valwood with a 68. Individual Frederica scores were as follows:

Thomas Henderson 75
Jack Roberts 75
Jackson Byrd 77
Parker Jules 80
Travis Cavalier 80
Roy Boyd 83
Aarnav Nath 84
Ramie Shingler 84

Coach's Comments:
We got a good look at what we are up against in State this year in a strong Valwood team who dominated us man for man. It was their home course but we have to play well enough to at least make a match out of it. There is no excuse for this team to lose by 22 shots; we have to do better. Brookwood is a very good team, and they played poorly, too, but they will be challenging us for State as well. It would have been a lot worse, but almost all of our players improved greatly on their final nine holes. Thomas hung in there well and had a great last-hole birdie to tie him for the low man on our team. Both Jack and Travis shot even on the back after a rough front 9, and Jack overcame two balls in the water to shoot that. He showed a lot of grit to salvage a decent score after a lot of bad tee shots. Travis has had one bad side and one good side several times this year. He has potential if he could put it all together. Jackson had an interesting day on the greens where he struggled with his putter, which made it tough for him to score. Overall, we are going to have to improve if we want to win. This team has so much potential, but we're still young. Hopefully, we can break out of this slump next week when we go up to Myrtle Beach for the Palmetto High School Championships.
The Frederica Academy Varsity Golf team won a 9-hole match Thursday against Brunswick High School at the Brunswick Country Club by a score of 170-184. The low medalist for the day was John Ferguson from BHS with a score of 39. Individual Frederica scores were as follows:

Edward Stephens 41
Josh Manning 42
Parker Jules 43
James Cruikshank 43
Eli Brickman 44
Blake Holloway 49
Riley Turner 65

Coach's Comments:
I felt like some of our players made some progress, even though none of our individual scores broke 40. Edward said he was hitting it well on the range, and he was able to stay consistent for the round with 4 pars and 5 bogeys. He had a 77 earlier this year and is capable of going low. He is getting longer, and his swing is looking good. I think he will be a factor for us in the future going forward. I was also impressed with Josh's round. He shot his lowest score for Frederica so far and had several good highlights. He hit it to 4 feet and made birdie on two and he holed out from the bunker on 8 for a great par save. He then made a clutch 15-footer on 9 to save par. His game is coming along, and he is a hard worker. I expect big things from him in the future. Parker had it even-par through 5 but struggled coming in. I'm waiting for her to shoot that low score; I can sense it is coming soon.

This was our first home game. It was good to play at home in front of our FA fans.

Our goal is to establish our style of play in each game and today we did that. It is always good to get a regional win.

Scoring 10 goals in a game is not easy. It was nice to see that we are creating goal-scoring chances, and tonight we finished those chances. It was a special night for Eli as he had 6 of those goals tonight.

Middle School Golf
Frederica Academy's Middle School Golf Team had its first golf match of the season this past Thursday at Southbridge Golf Club in Savannah. Frederica Academy, Savannah Christian, and Calvary put out their top 6 players and counted the top 4 scores for a team total. The team with the lowest score went home victorious. Frederica traveled with Jack Roberts, Jayden Roberts, Jacob Katz, Robert Stephens, Thomas Sams, and Cullen Kazimir. Frederica Academy’s Middle School Knights won by a total of 46 strokes. By the day's end, it was Frederica Academy 159, Calvary 205, and Savannah Christian 206.

I am proud of the efforts of all the players. They played extremely well today and will only get better as the season progresses. Frederica was paced by low medalist of the day, 8th grader, Jack Roberts, posting a 5-under, 31. His bogey-free round consisted of an eagle and 3 birdies. Jayden Roberts carded a 40, followed by Thomas Sams’ 43. Both Jayden and Thomas played well and will only get better with more experience, as they are both young in 6th and 7th grades respectively. The last counting score for FA was eighth-grader, Robert Stephens, who posted a 45. The team total of 159 should improve with continued hard work, as many players stated it was tough to score on poor course conditions.

I am impressed with all of his players' work ethic to this point and see a bright future ahead. It's a hard-working group, and each player understands they have things to work on. Eighth-grader, Jacob Katz, has shown a great deal of improvement since last year. He will only continue to get better. Seventh-grader, Cullen Kazimir, played in the first Middle School match of his career. He did very well for his first time out there and achieved some of the goals he was asked to create before the match. It’s a great group of young men who love the game, and they will only get better as this short season continues. The Knights pick up where they left off this upcoming Tuesday at Sapelo Hammock, against St. James and Blessed Sacrament.
