APRIL 27
PPE Night (Grades 4-11)
The FA Athletic Department and Southeast Georgia Health System will conduct an on-campus PPE night for current students in Grades 4 through 11 on Wednesday, April 27, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., for the 2022-2023 school year.

Students will be covered to participate in school and sports for the entire 2022-2023 school year once they complete the PPE evaluation on Wednesday and all of their forms have been completed, signed, and submitted.

A parent or legal guardian needs to be in attendance on Wednesday for the registration process since some forms require their signature.

PPE participants should park in the Corn Hall parking lot and enter the doors to the gym across from Hamilton Hall.

We are very fortunate to have community volunteers provide this service for a $10 donation to the FA Booster Club.
Varsity Baseball
The Varsity Baseball team defeated Citizen’s Christian 7-4 on Senior Night to finish the regular season 11-9.

John Abbott Havens earned the win while Hayes Carter picked up the save.

Jordan Triplett, Ashton Frankel, and TJ Sunderhaus all had 2 RBIs a piece.
Grant Moore had two hits to lead the offense.

The Knights travel to Dominion Christian for their first playoff series this Monday.
Varsity Girls Soccer
W 6-2 @ St. Andrews
W 4-0 @ Home vs. Brookwood

We won both of our matches this week. I was very happy with how our girls traveled to St. Andrews and got the result we needed to clinch another Region Championship. This past Friday we had one of our best performances of the season against a very good program in the Brookwood School and gave our seniors a great game for Senior Night. I look forward to seeing us continue our good form in our first-round playoff game versus Tiftarea at home today at 4:00 p.m. Please come out and support us!

Varsity Boys Soccer
FA 0 - Brookwood 2

Out shooting Brookwood 34 to 8 and keeping 80 percent of the possession wasn’t enough for the FA boys on Friday. We lost 2-0 in a game that taught us some valuable lessons heading into the state playoffs.

The best thing about Friday’s game was being able to celebrate our five amazing seniors: Charlie Runyan, TJ Jackson, David Garcia, Jacob O’Connor, and Bryce Reilly. I appreciate the time and dedication these boys have put in during their time at FA. Thanks for a great regular season, now let’s get them during the playoffs.

Varsity Track
Kaitlyn Sunderhaus took first place and Maggie Dorminy finished fifth place in the 1600 meter at the State Meet. TJ Jackson took third place in the 800 meters at State Meet.
Varsity Tennis
Last Tuesday and Wednesday, the GISA State Individual Tournament was held at the John Drew Smith tennis center in Macon. FA team members who qualified to play in the tournament were Merrill Been (Region Girls Singles Champion), Adam Elsharkawi (Region Boys Singles Champion), Jaxson Grotz and Grant Offner (Region Boys Doubles Champions), Kate Walbridge (Region Girls Singles Runner-Up), Andrew Kaminer and Trey Walbridge (Region Boys Doubles Runners-Ups), and Ali Brown-Winans (Regions fourth position in Girls Singles).

The GISA put together a very strong tournament; the FA players did a great job competing against the state's best players!

Merrill Been had Frederica's top result from the tournament finishing as AAA State Girls Singles Runner-Up with All-State Honors. Merrill won three great matches, before falling to last year's state champion, Erin McGrath. Merrill did a great job against Erin; she was toe to toe with her most of the match. It is the highest finish for a girls singles player since FA moved into GISA's AAA classification.

Ali Brown-Winans also had a great tournament finishing the tournament with All-State honors and top four in the state. Ali won against her first two opponents, Libby Carroll from Valwood and Sophie Gregory of Holy Spirit before losing to her teammate Merrill.

Singles Player Kate Walbridge won her first match against Greyson Smith of Tiftarea before playing eventual state champion, Erin McGrath.

The Boys who qualified ran into some tough first-round opponents. Adam Elsharkawi lost to two-time all-state player Taylor Huffman of Brookwood. The Doubles team of Jaxson Grotz and Grant Offner fell to a team from Tiftarea and the Boys team of Andrew Kaminer and Trey Walbridge lost to a team from Valwood. Unfortunately, many of the teams combined singles players to play doubles at state, which made for a difficult doubles draw.

Overall, everyone played well and it was a fun event. Ending the tournament with two players with All-State Honors and for Merrill to have a runner-up finish was a great ending to her incredible singles career at FA!

Middle School Golf
Lance Reid, Thomas Sams, and Davene Dixon won the middle school Osprey scramble golf match held yesterday at Osprey Cove. They got off to a fast start with birdies on 4 of the first 6 holes, making a couple of long putts on their way to a 4 under par 32 to take home the first-place prize.

Campbell Williams, Ford Stanfield, Wells Dixon, and Greer Flagstad finished a close second with a 3 under par 33 total. Campbell made a clutch right to left 12-footer on the last hole to secure 2nd place and avoid a playoff.

Jayden Roberts, Case Mitchell, Gates Dixon, and Cammie Sams were third with a 2 under 34. They got off to a rough start with a bogey on the first hole but played well after that, making 3 birdies including one on the final hole to nearly force a playoff for second place. Overall, it was a good day for this young team which has a lot of future golf talent.
