A Message from the Athletic Director
One week of athletic events are in the books, and we are now looking forward to our first home volleyball game and regular season football game later this week.
It is an exciting time of year; the best time I have as athletic director is to walk out and visit each team as they practice throughout the week. Our coaches and student-athletes are working hard, and there is no doubt they will be ready to take on the challenges of their upcoming competition.
As the Athletic Director, I am able to experience many different situations… some include a great amount of accomplishment and enjoyment… others include difficult and challenging moments. On Friday night, we had a football player who went down to injury during the scrimmage at Brantley County. It was scary for all of us who witnessed it... watching a young man in pain and stress. What I also witnessed was our trainer, Adam Norman, and our team physician, Dr. Denny Carter, take charge and handle the situation like experienced and caring professionals. I was very impressed with their assessment and calmness throughout the process of dealing with an injured athlete. We are so fortunate to have such dedicated and talented professionals on our sidelines. I am using this message to thank both of them publicly for everything they do for our student-athletes and for Frederica Academy.
Please join us this week at our home volleyball game on Thursday and when we hit the road with our football team as they travel to play the Brookwood School Warriors in Thomasville on Friday.

I hope to see you all there!

Go Knights!

Tuesday vs St. Andrews:

The Lady Knights started their first game of the season against regional rival St. Andrews. The Knights started off strong, leading the first set but ultimately losing 16-25. After an amazing comeback down 20-24, the girls took the second set with an extra points decision 30-28. The last two sets were taken by St. Andrews, 18-25 and 11-25. The Knights were led by Senior outside hitter Ryann Hankey with six kills, Junior middle blocker Ashley Prokop with seven kills, and Junior setter Katie Eckert with 17 assists.

Thursday vs. Memorial Day:

The Lady Knights bounced back from their loss on Tuesday to sweep Memorial Day School in straight sets. The girls played enthusiastically throughout the whole match winning 25-6, 25-7, and 25-10. At the start of the first of five sets, The Lady Knights earned the first point and continued to take the lead. Their strong teamwork skills supported their first win of the season. The Knights were led by Senior right side hitter Tiana Jackson with four kills, Sophomore middle blocker Giorgia Williams with four kills, and Junior outside hitter Ava Shockley with five aces. We look forward to our tri-match at Liberty County High School on Tuesday.

Go Knights!
