Welcome Back! It's a new school year and a new exciting year of Frederica Academy Athletics. I'm very happy to see the activity on our campus the last few days. Our varsity football, volleyball, and cross country teams have been hard at work preparing for their upcoming seasons. Most of our fall Middle School teams will meet this week to start organizing their practice schedules. We will announce those in their classrooms and with emails as they develop.

Please allow me to offer a reminder that all Middle School and Upper School student-athletes must have a current PPE on file with Nurse Pope (Middle School) and Athletic Trainer, Adam Norman (Upper School). To finish up last year's athletic season, it was announced that Frederica Academy finished the season in 2nd place in the overall points for the Michael Drake Athletic Excellence Award in Division AAA, the highest classification in GISA. This award is given annually to the overall athletic program that is the top points winner. We finished behind John Milledge Academy, 74 to 64 total points. For one of the smallest AAA athletic programs in the state, this is quite a feat and shows the great coaches and student-athletes we have.

This is the one sideline cheer I cannot seem to get out of my head as I prepare to begin my eighth year as the Varsity Cheerleading head coach at Frederica. To say that I have missed Friday “Knight” Lights and the energy of a packed stadium decked out in green and white is an understatement.

This year, we have a team full of wonderful young ladies who exude school spirit and love for their Knights, and they are eager to be back on the sidelines! To kick off the season, we hope you will join us at our first regular-season football game, as our boys battle against the Valwood Valiants on August 27, at 7:30 p.m.

We look forward to another year of supporting all of our student-athletes and sports programs. Good luck to all coaches and athletes this season!

I am looking forward to another great year of Cross Country at Frederica Academy. We have a very experienced team this year with a lot of seniors. Our senior runners include David Garcia, TJ Jackson, Andrew Kaminer, Evan Moitoso, Grant Offner, Chandler Sitz, Merrill Been, Ellie Runyan, Katelyn Sitz, and Kate Walbridge. I am excited for our younger runners to learn from this group. We will be hosting our first home meet this year on Saturday, September 18, and I am excited to see our school support this team.

With the volleyball season quickly approaching, our team is diligently working and preparing for our first regional game this Thursday at Frederica! Most of the team is returning for another season and they are eager to get back on the court. We have a total of 20 games this season and hope to see all of you at our home games!

Frederica Academy is partnering with a new vendor this year to offer online Spirit Wear items.

Each week, fans can purchase items featuring two different FA athletic programs as well as a site that sells FA Knights apparel and accessory items that are not to a specific sport.

Since the items will rotate frequently, you should order them at your earliest convenience.
