Tuesday vs. Camden County and Brunswick High

Camden County

The Lady Knights entered a double-header against Camden County and Brunswick High last Tuesday night. The first game was against Camden County High School with the Lady Knights coming out victorious, beating Camden County in two sets, 25-13 and 26-24. The Knights were led by Ali Brown-Winans with three kills and Ryann Hankey with seven aces.

Brunswick High

The Lady Knights came out swinging against inner-county rival Brunswick High on the second game of the night. The Lady Knights rolled through the first set winning 25-14. The second set was a little more of a challenge, but ultimately the Lady Knights won 25-20. The Knights were led by Ashley Prokop with five kills and five blocks, Lily Najawicz with three kills, and Anna Counts with eight aces.

Golden Isles Volleyball Invitational Tournament

Friday

The Lady Knights Volleyball team set their sights on playing some great competition at the Golden Isles Volleyball Invitational Tournament over the weekend. The girls had three games on Friday, playing Veritas Academy, Grace Christian Academy, and an inner-conference competition in Bethlehem Christian Academy. The Lady Knights took on Veritas Academy in the early morning game, sweeping the team in two sets, 25-18 and 25-15. The Knights took on 2A GIAA Grace Christian Academy early afternoon on Friday and ultimately lost in a nail-biter in three sets, 25-23, 20-25, and 13-15. Lastly, the girls had the task of playing against 3A GIAA Bethlehem Christian Academy, which would be their toughest task yet to jump BCA in the GIAA rankings. The girls rose to the occasion and beat BCA in straight sets, 27-25 and 25-22.

Saturday

The Lady Knights won the early morning game against Heirway Christian Academy in straight sets (25-11 and 25-21) to advance to the semi-final round to again play Bethlehem Christian Academy. In the fifth game of the tournament, the Lady Knights lost a hard-fought match against BCA 11-25 and 11-25. In all, it was a great tournament with great competition for the Knights.

Middle School Cross Country

The Middle School Cross Country Team had its second meet on Thursday. The boys ran a 5k on a fun course at the College of Coastal Georgia. Henry Dorminy paced the Flying Knights, followed closely by Joe Johnson, Jack Shiver, Jacob Gordon, Miller Durkin, and Hayes Brock. Overall, it was a great first showing at the 5k distance. The team will work hard to improve over the season's final weeks. The next meet will be on September 22, at the College of Coastal Georgia.

Middle School Football

The Middle School Knights had another solid performance. Offensively, there were highlights all over the field as we scored 34 first-half points. As a unit, we had over 250 yards of offense in the first half. The biggest play was a Conner Ellis to Jaylen Baldwin touchdown pass in the first quarter.

Defensively, there was a relentless effort by all three levels of our defense. Our entire defensive line kept consistent pressure on the opposing quarterback. This led to two interceptions from Davis Durkin and Trey Johnson. This effort continued to the next wave of Knight defenders who played. All in all, the defensive effort from every player that played this game was outstanding. This led to the second game in a row of keeping the opponent out of the end zone.

Go Knights!

Middle School Tennis

The FA Middle School Tennis team traveled to the Camden Middle School last Wednesday for its second win of the season.  Frederica's Middle School players cruised to a 5-0 victory.  The experience and depth of the FA team were too much for the young, inexperienced Camden team. FA matches were won by the Boys Doubles Team of Jack Tronolone and Nik Reinshagen, Girls Singles Ella Barker, Girls Doubles team of Kelly Offner and Ava Wyrick, and the Mixed Doubles team of Elyse Erwin and Cooper Lamb. Everyone played great! I look forward to the upcoming week with matches against Glynn Middle on Wednesday and St. Francis on Thursday!

Go Knights!

Middle School Volleyball

The Middle School Volleyball team has shown so much growth and potential in their games versus Glynn Middle on Monday and Risley Middle on Wednesday. Monday was a tough match, but the girls did very well with their serving and held their own against a well-developed team. Monday's results were 10-25 and 12-25. Wednesday, we had a very close match with Risley Middle School. The final scores were 15-25 and 23-25. The girls played so well. We were tied with Risley in the first set and even ahead at one point in the second set. I am so proud of the girls and all their efforts this year.

Go Knights!
