INTERGROUP & CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Western Area Intergroup Bylaws Revision

With the many changes in recent years, Western Area Intergroup (WAI) has developed new proposed bylaws to reflect our current circumstances, applicable law, and best practices. You can also read a summary of the changes from the current bylaws.

The vote on our proposed bylaws will be on Sunday December 8, 2024, 8:30 AM PT, during our December WAI meeting.

Eastern Area Intergroup Bylaws Revision

The EAI Bylaws Committee proposes a motion to update several inconsistencies in the Standing Rules of Order (formerly Continuing Effects Motions) from September 2013 regarding the procedure of Main Motions. Among the corrections, the Bylaws Committee proposed removing language that stated that a motion, once brought to WSBC, could never be revised and presented again. You can read the proposed bylaws changes here.


The motion will be voted on at the November EAI Body meeting at 9:00 AM ET.

The requirements for voting on this motion is 2 years of continued abstinence and you must be committed to a Meeting affiliated with FA-EAI or its chapters.

Submit Main Motions to your Intergroup by the end of November

Reminder to submit any proposed Main Motions to EAI or WAI before the end of November! See the EAI Main Motions Guide and WAI Main Motions Submissions Guide for dates and requirements. Please note the 2025 EAI dates will be determined at a later point.

FA-EAI Service Support Weekend

Advanced registration is closed but you can still register on-site (no meal plan provided) for the in-person Service Support Weekend being held November 15-17 in Arlington, VA. The 2024 theme is Service: Courage to Change. All are welcome! To volunteer for service during the weekend or for more information, go to the Service Support Weekend web page.

Day of fellowship among FA members en Español. We will meet at 12:30 PM PT for lunch, 2:00 PM for a qualification meeting in Spanish and additional fellowship time 3:30-5:00 PM. The meeting is in Spanish, we have many bilingual speakers and everyone is welcome to attend.
