Samford University Pharmacy Camp |
Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy is offering a one-week pharmacy camp next summer (June 23-28, 2019) for high school students who are interested in investigating a career as a pharmacist. Samford invites FA students to participate in the camp. During the week of pharmacy camp, students will experience hands-on learning about health careers in pharmacy, participate in tours of local health care facilities and local pharmacies, participate in compounding activities and hands-on demonstrations in the McWhorter School of Pharmacy science laboratory. Students who attend the camp will have the unique opportunity to spend time on the Samford campus and experience campus life, spend time with pharmacy professors, and have a lot of time to interact with other students also interested in pharmacy careers.
The camp is open to current high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Fourth Grade Jekyll Island Field Trip |
Mrs. Squire, Mr. Roberts, and their Fourth Grade students went to Jekyll Island for an outdoor adventure and lesson with leaders from the Driftwood Nature Center on Tuesday. The students walked 3.5 miles with naturalists exploring the island's maritime forest and beaches. After a delightful picnic, they built barrier island sandcastles and went seining. The squid and puffer fish were the biggest hits with the students! The trip was planned to coordinate with the students' science unit on weathering, erosion, and deposition. The teachers paired hands-on learning with lots of fun!
