24th Annual CoastFest: SATURDAY

The largest celebration of Georgia's coastal natural resources is ready to take center stage! The 24th edition of this annual event will take place at
Mary Ross Waterfront Park in Downtown Brunswick on Saturday, October 6, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Over 70 interactive environmental, educational, and resource organizations from around the southeast will offer visitors a chance to learn about Georgia's coastal resources and have some fun at the same time.
The event will feature student art contest entries from elementary schools in the Glynn County area. Mrs. Schuyler has submitted individual artwork from all of Frederica Academy's Fifth Grade students and 14 other students in grades 1-4, which were selected by a professional artist. One entry is a mobile featuring elements created by all of the Second Grade students.
Click
HERE to see photos of FA CoastFest artwork.
CoastFest 2018 will also offer new experiences around every corner for visitors this year! Throughout the day under the show tents returning favorites Arthur Atsma and his Science Circus will demonstrate marine science and Newtonian physics with fast-paced circus stunts and magic tricks; Jim Sawgrass and his Creek Indian family will entertain with Native American songs and ritual dances. Master juggler Rhys Thomas will perform amazing juggling feats with lots of audience participation. And don't miss the 'Family Fun Follies' when the amazing skills of both juggler and magician combine for a high energy show sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
At CoastFest 2018, visitors can put their hands into the touch tanks ..learn boating safety ...learn to kayak ...take part in living history demonstrations ...watch cannon firings ... see the CoastFest student art contest entries ...hold live snakes or an alligator ...learn about oyster habitat restoration ...try your hand at archery ...tour the US Coast Guard boats ...walk up to a bull moose, a bear, an elk, a wolf....and much, much more!

A Message from the FA Parent Association |
Thank you for your continued support of our school and your Parent Association. It is through your generous support that we are able to provide and subsidize events and programs at Frederica Academy that have a direct impact on your children. Our goal is to increase our fundraising proceeds to allow us to do more for the school community each year. Through these efforts we are able to provide the Back-to-School Barbeque, support the Lower School garden, maintain our uniform collection and resale closet, purchase or repair equipment as requested, contribute to the MakerSpace, Academic Centers and so much more.
One of the most important and impactful programs that we support as a Parent Association is the continued education and professional development of our teachers. We want our faculty to have the most current and cutting-edge teaching techniques and programs. This is a priority for the school; therefore, it is a priority for our fundraising efforts.
Please consider purchasing Poinsettias and Greenery for your home and business through our Parent Association Sale. These items truly are the most beautiful in the area. Click
HERE to download an order form. We invite you to share the order form with family, friends, and neighbors.
We recognize that not everyone is home during the holidays or has a need for these items; therefore, we are offering supporters the option to make a donation to the Poinsettia Sale or to purchase items that will be donated to the local nursing homes and Hospice of the Golden Isles. Donated items will include a Christmas card drawn by our students and will be delivered by Upper School Service Council members and Student Ambassadors.
Please contact
Kristen Moore should you have any questions at 912-996-0930 or via email at
[email protected].
Thank you, again, for your support!
