A Welcome from Charlie Runyan
Dear FA Students and Families,

As summer comes to a close and the school year begins, I am often asked, “are you excited for the school year to start?” As I sit here writing this in the warm summer sun with my friends and family, it is a simple answer: “no.” It’s not for the reason they might think, however. Yes, getting up early, studying for tests, and losing my free time is going to be tough, but it’s really because I do not want my ten years as a FA Knight to end. I do not want to say goodbye to the amazing traditions and relationships I have made as a FA student.

Ever since I joined the FAmily in the second grade, I could tell that Frederica Academy was built on traditions and relationships. From going on the Ebenezer trip in fifth grade to Baccalaureate the night before graduation, traditions are what make Frederica a family. I still remember in sixth grade when we loaded up the buses to head to camp Kanuga and when we boarded the plane to fly to Washington, D.C., for our Carpe Vitam trips. Outside of the classroom, we were able to build strong relationships that will last a lifetime. These strong relationships are what make up the FAmily.

So, as I look into the new school year, I am excited for the new memories I will make. But I’m even more excited to watch as other students make the same memories I cherish close to my heart. I look forward to welcoming everyone back and to creating more memories together.

Sincerely,

Charlie Runyan, Class of 2022

Middle School Advisory
The purpose of a Middle School Advisory/Homeroom Program is to help “students grow in mind, body and spirit” by providing a safe, engaging environment where students connect to each other and an adult advocate, have fun, and give back to the community.

With this in mind, students will meet in their Advisory/Homeroom multiple times throughout the First day of school. Students please report to your Advisory (6th-8th grades) or Homeroom (5th grade) when the first bell rings at 8:10 a.m. instead of going to your first period class.

Advisory lists will be posted in both Middle School hallways. Student Advisory classes are also listed on their schedules. I encourage you to check the day before school starts for your student’s the most updated assigned Advisory.

Please contact Rachael Lee if you have any questions.
Knights in Extended Day (KiX)
The Frederica Academy KiX program (Knights in Extended Day), is available for FA students in Pre-K through Sixth Grade. Anyone who may want to use the extended day services during the 2021-2022 school year should complete a KiX form

All Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade families should complete and return a KiX Registration form in the event unanticipated family circumstances necessitate a student attend KiX on short notice.

KiX is located in The Knights Castle (the former Georgia Power building immediately to the right upon entering campus before you go through the FA Gate). There are age appropriate activities taking place in different rooms. Older students are encouraged to work on homework during the time they are at KiX.

The program begins at 2:00 p.m. and ends at 6:00 p.m. Students enter the program at the conclusion of their regular school day. When Lower School After School Programs commence later this fall, students may opt to join KiX after daily programming in our seasonal After School Programs.

Attendance at KiX is billed on an hourly basis. “Frequent Flyers” receive a reduced rate based on how many hours a child is in attendance at KiX. For multiple siblings, we offer a 10% discount for the oldest sibling. All of this information is detailed on the KiX Registration Form. Please click HERE to access the KiX Registration Form and to learn more about the KiX Program.

Click HERE to email Heather Day, KiX Program Director, for more information.
