“South Florida Symphony Orchestra has strong leadership”

MARÍA ALFONSO

Award-winning Sebrina María Alfonso has established herself as a dynamic musical force. She is one of the few female conductors in the world. Her creativity has established the South Florida Symphony Orchestra (SFSO) as a leader in innovative collaborations, which are evolving the classical music art form and attracting new audiences. The South Florida Symphony Orchestra has been dazzling music lovers with FAB funded performances since 2016. We applaud Sebrina for her accomplishments and dedication to the Broward arts community and to music. Maria has been nominated as one of the women of today, women trailblazers and champions of change 2022, Broward County.

Behind the Scenes – Miami City Ballet

Over 75 FAB members and their guests enjoyed the dress-rehearsal of Miami City Ballet’s long-awaited Swan Lake. Funding Arts Broward (FAB) proudly supported the Broward performances of this classic ballet. And, we were delighted to offer this exclusive preview to FAB members.

We asked Josh Lida to share what his experience as a first year FAB grant screener was like, and here is his take on the process.

“As an art attorney and fan of art, I am often engaged in the art community. As part of that community, I have fallen in love with FAB the organization and was so grateful to take part in the grant process. While not my first grant review process, it was my first with FAB. It was really great to see up close and personally what FAB is all about: raising and providing funds for innovative and creative art projects. In addition to helping FAB fulfill it’s mission, it was a wonderful opportunity to get to know my fellow FAB members better. A great experience I recommend!” Josh Lida
