Fall 2019 Dissertation/Thesis Write-In and Boot Camp Schedule
The CFAES Graduate Student Support Group is pleased to announce that we will be hosting dissertation/thesis write-ins and a boot camp during the fall semester. Like previous write-ins, this will serve as a quiet space for students to get together to write independently in community. Students may come and go as they wish and are welcome to bring an additional monitor. Below is a schedule of the sessions that will take place throughout the semester.

Columbus Campus Write-Ins
October
Friday, 10/25 in 139 Howlett Hall, 9:00am-12:00pm

November
Wednesday, 11/06, 202F Kottman Hall, 9:00am-12:00pm
Friday, 11/22 in 139 Howlett Hall, 9:00am-12:00pm

December
Wednesday, 12/04, Location TBA, 9:00am-12:00pm

Columbus Campus Boot Camp
Saturday, 11/16 in 139 Howlett Hall, 11:00am-4:00pm

This boot camp will provide you with a brief overview of how to set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timely) goals and tips on writing. Each person will be given a post-it and will establish a writing goal for the day. At a break or at the end of the day everyone will go over their goals, discuss if they were met, and identity challenges/obstacles to writing and how to approach them. Lunch will be provided during this session.

Seats are limited and available on a first come basis, we can accommodate approximately 12 people comfortably. If you would like to attend this week's write-in, please email Alicia Baca ( baca.31@osu.edu ) and include the time you anticipate being present. If necessary, a waiting list will be used and students will be notified via email or text when a seat becomes available. Snacks and tea will be provided. Feel free to bring your own food. Scroll down for more information about what to expect.

Come prepared to write! A write-in is only effective for writing if you spend the time actually writing. That means all notes from the literature should be taken and available and all statistical analyses completed. However, if you are not quite ready to write and want to take advantage of this opportunity to work on stats or literature you are most welcome to attend as long as there is space.
