ASABE Club Meeting

Mike Hilvers from Unverferth will be speaking. Unverferth manufacturers and markets tillage equipment, pull-type sprayers, fertilizer applications, hay and grain handling equipment, and agricultural dual and specialty wheels.
We will be voting on a constitution change to revise the E-Council Representative to include ISB Representative as requested by national ASABE. Please see the ASABE newsletter for more details.

SKY Engineering Time to Destress Thursdays
Thursdays, 5:00-5:45 p.m.

Sky Engineering is a student organization that promotes mental wellness practices including breathwork, meditation, and yoga within the College of Engineering. We meet weekly through our series called “Time to Destress Thursdays” on Thursdays 5pm to 5.45pm. Membership is open to all undergraduate and graduate students, as well as staff and faculty, within the College of Engineering and Knowlton School of Architecture.
Meeting time: Thursdays at 5pm to 5.45pm

Take a Study Break Before Finals Begin

The College of Engineering Advancement Team knows how resilient and flexible you have been this semester having a mostly virtual leaning experience. As such, we encourage you to take a break from your late-night studying to enjoy a free virtual trivia show with a $200 cash prize! Yes, you read that correctly: a $200 cash prize to the winner! This free to register, virtual event will take place on Tuesday, December 1 at 8:00 PM EST. Did we mention the cash prize yet?

On the day of the show, go to this link to join the Zoom where the host will be available to answer any questions 30 minutes before the show begins.
- During the game show, you will compete against other players by answering trivia questions from your phone while watching the host on your computer or another mobile device.
- Everyone will be competing at the same time
- When the game is over, all winners will be contacted within 24 hours after the game is over to receive their prizes.

A Creative Science Communication Scholarship Opportunity

We know that students are creative and have great ideas for communicating knowledge. The Knowledge Exchange is looking to help amplify those ideas while providing scholarships up to $500 for selected finalists. We are looking for students to develop creative knowledge communication projects around one of a few Grand Challenges: water quality, rural-urban interface, farm and community stress, food security, and food waste. There is not a set submission format to follow. (Again, we’re looking for creativity!) More information can be found at kx.osu.edu/announcement/KXPRESS. ARTSSCI 5194: Personal Wellness and Mental Health

Course Description: Personal wellness and mental health are important determinants of success. In this course, we will introduce students to a variety of evidence-based strategies for managing stress, warding off / combatting anxiety and depression, and promoting personal wellness. To learn these strategies, students will be asked to try them out and explore how they can use them in their own lives. The course aims to provide students a psychological toolkit that they can rely on in facing a wide variety of challenges as they progress through their university experience and into the years that follow.

Fellowships for Undergraduate STEM Students from the East Asian Studies Center
|
Application Deadline: Monday, February 1, 2021, 4:30 p.m. EST
These fellowships are available to undergraduate students of junior or senior standing in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field who have successfully completed two years of East Asian language study at the college level. Academic Year 2021-2022 fellowships are expected to contribute $10,000 towards tuition and fees and also provide a $5,000 stipend. Summer 2021 fellowships are expected to cover $5,000 in tuition and fees and also provide a $2,500 stipend.
