Have you had an outstanding graduate TA this past year? Consider nominating them for the 2021 FABE Graduate Teaching Award. Any graduate student advised by a faculty member in the Department of Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering who is not a former recipient is eligible.

The Sustainability Institute at Ohio State Invites students to the first Smart and Resilient Communities Research Seminar on Wed., March 3, at 2 p.m. According to Gina Langen, communications director of the Sustainability Institute, it would be especially pertinent to grad and undergrad students in FABE, SENR, ACEL, as well as faculty in those areas.  The seminar will highlight “Facilitating urban cooling technology innovation and adoption through living laboratory experiments.”  This presentation will include several university-government-industry collaborations that are being used to demonstrate, test and improve technologies and strategies for urban cooling. A key component of the approach is a focus on targeted and equitable mitigation to maximize benefits for the most at-risk populations. This webinar will feature Dr. David Sailor, director of the Arizona State University Urban Climate Research Center, School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning.  Registration

The State Authorization Advisory Committee is accepting nominations for new members. Faculty, staff and students who would like to learn more about state authorization or help develop state authorization processes should submit a nomination by March 31. Committee members will serve through June 30, 2022, and member responsibilities will not exceed two hours per month.
